A creative & challenging family board game that will leave kids (& even adults) fascinated about the beauty of geometry. Geometry is not just about remembering shapes & their properties. It’s a way of thinking! How The Game Works The game consists of sticks of three different lengths - 3, 4 and 5 units long. Using these to try and create geometric shapes. Based on the size and type of shape, you earn points. Sounds simple? Not quite. Firstly, you don't get to choose the sticks - it is determined by a randomly chosen card. And secondly, you can use only two sticks per turn! Creating a shape using only two sticks is impossible. Hence you have to use your two sticks along with the ones that the other players may have placed on the board. That is where the game turns highly creative. Which two sticks will you use? Where will you place them? Think creatively to win. Just started using this in my tutoring sessions. Haven't explored everything you can do with the game, but already my students are loving it.

Says it makes learning fun, but in fact makes it more complicated.
I think this is based on a good premise. You make different geometric shapes and the scoring model is composed of calculating the perimeter (bigger shapes get higher scores), plus the value of the shape (more complicated shapes get higher scores) plus any bonus points you manage to trap in your shape. So far so good. Geometry plus addition. The scoring mechanism means that kids need to do the mental arithmetic of adding big numbers to each other too. But the game play is EXTREMELY frustrating and badly thought out. This is because to make the shapes you have to put the sticks into holes in the board. The holes are set around blue dots - 8 holes per dot to choose from. And this means - you can only use either 45 or 90 degree angles. We only put two and two together (pun intended) when we tried to make a regular pentagon and couldn't get the sticks to slot into the board holes the way we wanted. I cannot imagine my daughter asking to play this again, sadly.

Good to learn irregular shapes and properties of them.
Positives:Game was easy to understand and the rules had images for you to check you were playing correctly. It is really useful that the bonus shapes are on the box lid, this would stop it becoming lost.It was easy to record the scores for each player.Negative:There was not enough 'power cards' for each player. The rules say that each player has 5, but when playing with 4 players, there was only enough for each player to have 4 cards with a couple of spare. In the rules it states the game takes between 35 - 40 minutes to play. After an hour we were still playing.Overall:It would be a good game for children to learn shape names and properties, especially to identify irregular shapes. As 4 adults playing it, we were a little bored, there was no excitement at all and it seemed to go on for a long time. We don't actually know how the game ended (it may have specified in the rules) We had, had enough so gave up. As a teacher I will be taking this game to school to share with the children as I think they may enjoy it. Unfortunately due to the cost of it, I would be unable to purchase these enough for the whole class to play, however a small group could play. I may even link children into pairs to play so 8 could play together.

Educational and Fun
It is a lovely game for both children and adults. Family bonding over math! The box says that 4 players can play using 2 boxes. We had only 1 so we played in teams. While the game play initially seemed too simple and just for kids, the hidden mystery numbers that are revealed only in the end made the game quite exciting. As a whole it is excellent fun and at the same time good for practicing math.
