Nothing essential in here
It’s a good little book if you know nothing about cars. Well written and interesting with some details. If you do however know about cars, this isn’t the book for you, you’ll learn very little, even about the Audi TT.Disappointed. Yep

Useful for complete beginners or people not at all familar with TTs
THis is a useful introduction and a fair guide for buying one of these cars and goes into a lot of detail but it's not a reference, once you've read it then you'll be selling it. All pretty straightforward stuff but that's not to say it's not valuable, it is...

Great but go for a discount
If you're thinking of buying a Mark 1 TT, this buyer's guide is an absolute gem, a treasure trove of information for the potential buyer who'll hopefully manage to avoid a calamity. Sure, all the information contained within its pages is available on the web, and a whole lot more besides, but the book pins down the "need to know" essentials into one handy, pocket sized package. My only complaint would be the price. I think £12.99 is too much and so it loses a star. Fortunately, one or two people are selling the book at a huge discount and that way, it makes a lot of sense.

Useful guide
Have bought from the Essential Buyer's Guide before for different cars. Found this useful even though I would say about 80% of the buying tips are generic and would apply to any car. The other 20% on the car itself is still interesting. Good value for the money.

It’s actually pretty generic
I was expecting it to be more detailed, in terms of specifications, model year differences etc.Instead I’d say half of it is a generic “when checking (insert car make and model here) do this” type advice that is in no way specific. Possibly useful to some but I wanted more bespoke info than this book contains.

Poor value at full price
Little written information is available for this model and this volume does not contain the wealth of detail in some other Veloce books in this series eg MG TF, which gives very useful info on interpretation of vin numbers paint codes etc. I should have waited for the cheaper versions available now on the Amazon Marketplace list! The iPad app gives nearly as much info at much less ££.
