Very waterproof - however Large is too big for U.K. 9
I’ve never bought, or worn waterproof socks before and when I put them on for the first time, they felt a little odd. The only way I can describe it, is sort of like putting on a comfortable wetsuit for your feet.I bought these for mountain biking, and the occasional hike up said mountains, however I had a little test with something different today - pressure washing the patio! As you can see from the photos, my shoes were soaked through, and covered in mud - my feet however - bone dry! So much so I forgot the outside of the sock was wet and proceeded to walk straight through the house leaving a trail of footprints which my wife wasn’t too happy about - especially when I told her it couldn’t have been me as my feet feel dry!!I’m a U.K. 9 so got the corresponding sized sock, however as it spans a rather large ish range and UK 9 being towards the bottom most sized in that bracket, they are a tad big for me, although it’s not a huge issue and I didn’t really notice other than when taking the images for this review. Although if I were to get another pair I’d probably size down to the medium. Although - this slightly larger sock size gives you ample opportunity to wear another set of socks underneath these.Longevity has yet to be tested, and I’m hoping the other reviews are wrong, although I will report back if there are any issues.Overall, so far a good pair of socks. The waterproof-ness has been great (so much so I tried them on in an inflatable pool and my feet were bone dry - very weird knowing you are standing in a pool of water and your feet being bone dry!), and they’ve been very comfy - especially whilst spending the entire day on my feet pressure washing a rather large patio. The reason I’ve knocked a star off is due to the slight sizing issue, and if I were to buy again I’d probably size down.

I asked in the local bike shop what they'd recommend and they summed it up quite well
Mmmmmm, not hugely impressed, I was hoping for a lot more from these considering the price. I bought them for mountain biking, and first use my feet were definitely dryer than my £1.99 socks would have been, but 60% dryer is not dry enough for the price.I asked in the local bike shop what they'd recommend and they summed it up quite well; Otter socks are great if you want to stand still in a small bucket of water, but the moment you put a shoe on and exercise in them they lose their waterproofness.

Wow! Love these...
Amazed how good these are!A friend recommended these socks to me. Originally thought that's a lot of money for a pair of socks. After getting fed up with getting cold wet feet in my walking shoes, and my wet socks making my dry shoes smelly, I thought I'd give them a try.The socks are soft, comfortable and appear very durable. They seem to remove sweat so they don't stick to my feet like others. In long wet grass, I no longer have to tread carefully to ensure the water doesn't spill over into my shoes leaving my feet soggy.Just bought another pair, I don't want be without.

Pretty impressed
I went out for my first run in the socks and I must say they did what they said on the tin. I went through some very muddy & wet off road fells and my feet didn’t get wet at all which also meant they kept warm. I would have given 5 stars but they are quite thick and if you wear your Fell shoes quite tight like I do then they can be a bit of a squeeze to get in. That said however once out on the trails they didn’t cause me and discomfort. Not tried on a wet road run yet.

Good alternative to more expensive weatherproof socks.
Great weatherproof socks. I found these to be comfortable and well fitting; I am a UK men's 9 and a large fitted well with enough room for a thinner sock underneath. Waterproof and wind resistant and warmer than the Merino wool socks I've been using for cycling, though my feet still got cold, but not the ice blocks they normally become (riding in -4c). Tried these out along side a pair of Seal Skinz and both performed the same. They appear durable and should last a good while.

Fantastic! Dry, warm feet!!
Wow! I am a partially disabled football coach, wet feet are an unwanted occupational hazard... Not anymore! These socks have been a revelation. At first they feel slightly unusual to wear but in no time at all you adjust to them.Coming off the pitch after a heavy rain storm and removing the socks, as advertised, my feet were bone dry and very warm... My footwear however was totally soaked through.I was expecting to have sweaty legs and feet too... But no!, they are incredibly warm but breathe too. These are probably the most comfortable socks I have ever worn.As for longevity, time will tell but I coach up to 6 times a week and so far...so very, very good! No, they are not cheap but, I highly recommend this to you.As for the fit I am size 13 feet and 6'2" and I purchased the "XL" and they fit me just fine.Thank you Otter! Keep up the good work and if you would like to send me a few more pairs for everyday of the week, I would be very grateful!

NOT WATERPROOF, POOR STITCHING. DO NOT BUY
Awful Product overall, the stitching was falling apart as soon as i opened the product, and they say they are meant to be waterproof, errm... they are definitely NOT waterproof, as on my first hike my feet were completely drenched with water, dripping infact.I do not recommend this product in the slightest.

Did the job for me
I bought these not so much for the waterproof qualities but to wear for winter fishing in Scotland as an extra padded/insulation layer. I put on a thin pair of cotton socks, the Otters and my neoprene lined wellies. I have to say I found them great and my feet definitely felt much warmer than they normally do with just a thick-ish pair of socks and my wellies. I am a UK men's 8.5 or 9 shoe size and bought the large and the fit for me was good.I've only used them twice so far so I cannot comment on how long they'll last however the product seems to be well manufactured. My only negative would probably be that they are quite pricey for a pair of socks even though I ordered two pairs (black and camo) based on mostly positive reviews.Overall they did the job and I would recommend them for most outdoor pursuits.P.S. This is not a professional review so don't sue me if you do skydiving in them and your parachute doesn't open :)
