Good extraction for small bathroom
First up, my bathroom has never had an extractor fan and desperately needed one. I'd been running a dehumidifier after every shower.I wanted an extractor to run on a timer facility, so went about taking a permanent live feed from the pull cord to a new isolator in the airing cupboard. Switched live was taken from the light to the isolator. The screws on the Kair extractor fan cover to expose the wiring terminals were very small but with the right screwdriver a doddle to undo. Wiring was straightforward and much easier than core drilling the gable end in a tight space. What I really liked was the ability to leave the fan body wired up in the loft space but bringing the fan chassis stand assembly of it down to the landing. This gave me improved workspace and where I screwed the chassis onto a board. I also connected the 1m flexible insulated ducting and then reassembled the fan back into the chassis in the loft. The board was then screwed down into position but sitting on some rubber grommets I had from a previous job.I set the fan timer a couple of times. First setting ended up running for 20 minutes after lights out. 2nd attempt had it at 12 minutes. Bit of trial and error getting it to the time you want it to run for. Thankfully, just a quick job to adjust.Extraction from the 100mm fan is very good. The fan itself isn't noisy but the suction sound is. It'll easily hold a piece of paper to the ceiling at the inlet duct, so plenty powerful. With the bathroom door closed and from other bedrooms, I can barely hear it. It's doing exactly what I wished for and I haven't now needed the dehumidifier. This item in my opinion was a fantastic price and I'm happy with the quality and performance from it.

Works really well
This is a very good bit of kit for the money. It took a long time to work out the wiring as the instructions aren't great, but its fairly silent when tucked away in the loft and the ease of fitting with its clips and brackets is just great. I had assumed that it runs at a slow speed all the time like my other one, but it needs switching for that, but the key thing was a decent overrun, and up to 30mins is idea.

Steam free rooms
Bought for a bathroom that's fan was lacking. This one is easy to set up and functions really well. Air flow extraction is great and can be adjusted, though I set it on high from the start. Very quiet. Great value for money as previously I have spent double this price for a similar item.

Quiet and well made
For the money this is a good buy. Installed in 30 mins and the noise level is very low. Only criticism is it could do with a small ridge where the hoses fit to help keep them fitted ( it also doesn’t come with and ties to secure the ducts to the hoses). I set the timer to half way between max and min and it runs on for 12 minutes.

Missing the bits you really need for some applications
I wanted an inline fan to use with my 3D printer to take all of the fumes and push them out through a vent in the wall. I saw the large number of positive reviews, and the features like multi-speed and thought "Why not?" The fan arrived, and I realised that it was not going to work out of the box. Firstly, there is no 13 AMP plug and flex. Secondly, there is no earth - which I'd hoped for. Then I tried to understand the wiring, and the wiring diagram is shown in the lid. I realised I needed to install a switch to turn it on and off and to control the speed and the Heschen Metal Toggle Switch, C523A, DPDT, Maintained, ON/OFF/ON 3 position, 15A 250VAC, 6 Tab Terminal, CE, with Waterproof Cap is the one I settled on. Then I realised I could not just drill a hole in the wiring box as the box itself is too small. So then I spent a couple of hours measuring the old lid to design a new cover. I printed this on the 3D printer, and installed the toggle switch, added a 13A plug and mains flex, and finally it works as I needed it. The switch allows me to have the ventilation OFF/LOW/HIGH without unplugging at the wall every time. All a bit of a faff in my opinion, but I don't buy inline fans very often, so don't know if there is a better product out there.
