The Best Of Sade

I have now replaced my original pressing of this LP (a Legacy 180G) with this new pressing being sold by Amazon. They have been keeping a secret! It is a half speed Abbey Road Mastering. "This rare and specialised technique transforms difficult to cut high-end frequencies into relatively easy to cut mid-range frequencies. The result is a cut with excellent high frequency response and very solid and stable stereo images. In short, half-speed mastering produced a master of the highest quality that enables the pressing plant to produce a superlative record." The code for the LP is the same - but the secret lies in the etching on the vinyl. Someone who clearly respects Sade has produced these with utter care and love. VERY, V*E*R*Y special pressing. Faultless. Will the record company (EPIC?) please, PLEASE, listen and re-release the whole back catalogue on vinyl, preferably mastered in the same way so we can stop having to pay £100 plus for second hand copies, most of which were poorly mastered. The rumour is that Sade is working on a new album - hopefully that will bring the re-releases as matter of course - but we need them now! This may sound sad, my life would not be complete with Sade's music. It is astonishing beautiful and her care with words and production takes your breath away. We may have to wait 10 years until Sade is ready, but you know, just know, that what comes will be worth it. Please do not wait and buy this album now before they are gone. It is truly WOW! I do not have a more perfectly cut and mastered piece of vinyl in my collection. Thank you to whoever has done this. Thank you Sade.

This is a brilliant double album -for me the only minor improvement would to be to bolster side 4 up with ‘Morning Bird and The Safest Place but hey that’s my personal choice. On the technical side I think this is a set 180g pressings though I can’t find anything on the album sleeve or record to confirm this - it’s just feels as heavy as my other 180g pressings, so I guess it’s not a 120g. Again there is nothing on the album sleeve or record to state this a half speed pressing so I don’t know BUT the audio quality is excellent and tracks like No Ordinary Love send shivers though you on my Cambridge Edge system 😎 Sade has such a unique voice and the band are excellent musicians - a rare treat of proper music.

Is amazing pressing and sound quality. LP itself is heavy, solid and perfectly clean. Every track is a hit.

What have Lady Gaga, Adele, Shirley Bassey, Amy Winehouse, Gloria Estefan, Etta James, Annie Lennox, Sarah Vaughan, Tina Turner, Dione Warwick, Debbie Harry, Lisa Stansfield and Sade all got in common? They all have ‘Contralto’ voices! Sade has made 6 studio albums to date, 1984 – 2010, all of which have featured in the UK top 10. She has had 4 top 20 singles here with ‘Your Love is King’ reaching Number 6. Aside from having the most wonderful voice, her music is the epitome of romantic easy listening. I love the almost hypnotic but subtle back beat to her music. The only very small critique I can offer is that all the very best songs are in the early part of the listen and that some of the others don't quite live up to that standard - but over all ... lovely!

My mum used to play this album when I was younger I loved it back then. Bought this now I've invested in a vinyl set. The quality is amaxing even on my beginner set up. Sounds are warm and multi tonal and Sades voice is very clear and beautiful. I love every song which is important as you can't normally skip tracks. Only downside is the disks are held in cardboard sleeves not the paper ones so I need to upgrade to protect them

Unbelievable!.. this is a Miles Showall 1/2 speed abbey road studios press. Signed in the run off. A collectors piece and Amazon don’t realise what this is. 😳😉 Obviously the pressing is immaculate and the sound reproduction is beyond belief. The genius of Miles Showall at his best. If you can get this, get it. Sade sounds so delicious. 🥰

If you like Sade..and who wouldn't?..then here's the ultimate compilation on two records.As can be seen from the inscription on the runout groove, it's a Half Speed remaster which in none technical terms means that it's cut for maximum quality on vinyl,and that's exactly what It is.Luxurious sonic excellence.. luxurious music.... what's not to like? Recommended.

Doppio vinile nero in formato 180 grammi. Acquistato in offerta a meno di 20 Euro.. soldi spesi benissimo! Pro: - Vinili perfetti e piatti; - Audio pulito e silenzioso. Contro: - Nulla di rilevabile. Sade, di origini nigeriane, naturalizzata britannica ha iniziato come stilista e modella e forse non tutti sanno che non è semplicemente una raffinata cantante ma anche e soprattutto una compositrice, arrangiatrice e produttrice discografica.. non ha solo la voce, ma anche un notevole talento musicale a tutto tondo. Poi che è bella da paura, di certo l'ha aiutata.. I suoi dischi hanno fatto da colonna sonora alla mia giovinezza, a cavallo degli anni '80 e '90.. quella voce calda e seducente, quelle sonorità particolari che miscelano il R&B, il Jazz, il Soul e l'influenza del fervido e prolifico genio musicale britannico.. ci hanno regalato brani che ancora oggi sembrano assolutamente contemporanei e attuali. Senza dimenticare quelle foto, quelle copertine e quei video musicali che la mostravano nella sua perfezione fisica e bellezza più latina che africana, voluta da contratto dalla sua casa discografica. La copertina di questa raccolta invece è completamente l'opposto, ce la presenta nella sua totale naturalità. Tornando al prodotto fisico, i due dischi sono quasi perfettamente piatti.. e questo mi fa molto piacere.. cosa non sempre scontata, anche con i 180gr. Le registrazioni sono di buono/ottima qualità, le tracce sono pulite come anche gli intervalli tra un brano e l'altro. Buona la dinamica e abbastanza ampio il palcoscenico sonoro, suono caldo e pieno. Ho anche i dischi originali di 30 e più anni fa.. ma oramai sono un po' rovinati! Consiglio assolutamente, non tutti, ma quasi tutti i brani più famosi ed iconici di Sade in questo doppio di ottima qualità generale.

Sehr schöne Musik zum "relaxen" oder einfach nur genießen, wobei mir aber die Titel aus den 80igern besser gefallen. Klanglich spielt diese Doppelvinyl auf sehr hohem Niveau. Schöne, runde und weiche Bässe, aber etwas kräftiger, als man es bei Aufnahmen aus den 80iger Jahren kennt ( wohl dem Remastering geschuldet ). Die Mitten sehr klar und detailreich, Sade's Stimme sehr raumfüllend und wunderbar weich. Der Hochtonbereich sehr fein und hochauflösend. Auch wenn die Bässe recht kräftig sind, ist das Klangbild sehr offen und räumlich. Mängel gibt es aber bei der Pressqualität: Auf Seite 2 hat die Vinyl, beim letzten Titel "Love is stronger than pride", starke Knistergeräusche und das Lied klingt teilweise etwas verzerrt. Da auch eine Plattenwäsche keine wirkliche Verbesserung brachte, gehe ich entweder von einem Pressfehler aus oder die Vinyl wurde an dieser Stelle bei der Produktion oder Verpacken leicht zerkratzt. Da sie ansonsten fehlerfrei läuft, habe ich das jetzt nicht reklamiert und auch keinen Punktabzug vorgenommen.
