ATEN Matrox TripleHead2Go Graphics Expansion Module

This was actually a replacement sent out by the guys at Amazon. The first one sent was non co operative in a big way and I was bitterly dissapointed in it. I got in touch with the Teccy guys in the USA at Matrox and they were great in their help but ultimatley could not solve the problems I was having. Amazon heard about my problem and immediatley dispatched a replacement to me which landed about three days later, I was also given free return postage. (Via Courier) to return the faulty item. My initial reservations about this product have been well and truly forgotten. Triple head to go gaming is the future. To run through your favourite war game, Driving sim or flight sim is an experience that once encountered will change the way you look at games on a measly single monitor for good. My TH2Go is linked to Three Acer 24" monitors and still slings the graphics round in a realistic fashion. My big passion is flight simes and this linked up with FSX is awe inspiring stuff. The software package is easy to use, most new games are already pre configured in a seperate programme and require one click from yourself after you decide what screen resolution your card can handle and which game you want TH2Go to run. The bezel management system is straight forward to use allowing objects to look as if they pass behind your monitor edges rather than by jumping across. (Very important on flight sim window views.) All in all I would recommend this product to any serious gamers out their who can splash out on three seperate monitors. Your gaming experience will be changed forever and you will be the envy of your friends. Well done Matrox and outstanding customer care, as usual from Amazon.

I started using TripleHeads years ago when they had to be mounted on the motherboard in place of the existing graphics card. Since then, screens have become larger and with greater resolutions. Things have got easier with the current product being external and plugged in to the graphics card output (so no need to open the pc and invalidate any warranty). They're not cheap though, but then cost no more than a half decent graphics card. My work pc uses two TripleHead2Go's.....each one driving 5,760 x 1,080. The Matrox compatability tool that can be downloaded says that 3,840 is the max....but the settings can be adjusted in the Matrox Powerdesk......I guess the ability to do this may be influenced by choice of screens too. Matrox warranty doesn't cover if greater than the recommended resolution is used. This setup displays a lot of graphics, spreadsheets and databases but is not used for gaming though, so I can't comment on how appropriate the product is for this use. I've just ordered my 3rd external TripleHead2Go via Amazon for my home setup, but with smaller (19") screens the total resolution will be lower.

Great pieces of equipment but it would be useful if he manufacturer published the recommended graphics cards

Worked for about 5 minutes then it switched to only recognising one monitor. I had long phone conversation with the manufactures who tried to fix it through controlling my computer over the web. I sent it back to the manufacturers but they failed to mend it or replace it.

I have only just set up The TripleHead2Go, this is my second unit as the first was faulty and would not display anything my monitors just reported no device connected !! (returned unit received refund no problem) The Second unit works great, easy to set up and to get working, getting the best resolution set up is a little fiddly due to the instruction being a little thin in detail but after playing about for a while, I ended up with a resolution of 4080 x 768 accross 3 20" monitors using the VGA (Anolog) connections. (looks Great) You can get better ressolutions if your PC supports DVI (Digital) out and Monitors have DVI (Digital) in If my PC supported DVI out the ressolution would improve to 5040 x 1050 accross the same 3 monitors

I've been very impressed with this product and have been using it for well over a year now. It is extremely useful for expanding your desktop over several monitors without the need for upgrading your graphics card. One of the best uses too is for gaming. Most games will run over three screens as the device creates a new desktop resolution. Even if the game does not have native support then matrox has a utility that allows you to edit the game config but this is rare. It is extremely reliable and once it's set up (which takes minutes) it requires nothing further. I would say beyond doubt it is the best component I have bought for PC and everyone that I know that has experienced gaming on 3 screens is blown away. Because the screen is so wide (across 3 screens) you find that it provides a peripheral perspective which in turn immerses you within whatever environment your in. Save your money buying larger and larger monitors.. Simply get 3 reasonable sized/priced monitors and expand your desktop over all three!!!
