Kidde29 Optical Smoke Alarm

For the money, this has to be the best smoke alarm on the market at such a competitive price. I have tested it thoroughly and it was so easy to install. The "Test" function works perfectly, and the alarm noise is very, very piercing. An excellent buy.

Great to begin with but developed a fault after 6 months. Continuously beeped for no reason. I contacted Amazon who were brilliant and replaced it straight away.

Small and reasonably discreet alarm. Bought this one as is similar in looks to my smoke and Carbon monoxide alarm downstairs. The alarm is reasonable loud and it was easy to fit. Hopefully will never have to find out if it works in a real situation.

Excellent safety great price very pleased would definitely recommend to people who need a fire alarm, build quality is good its nice size and very easy to install

That’s it - I give up!This was great in the warm/hot summer weather but for cooler autumn it’s useless. I have this fitted to the ceiling at the top of the stairs.First signs of annoyance were the alarm sounding every time I took a shower so I reluctantly kept the bathroom door closed. Now into late September closing the door is not enough - as soon as I open the door to exit the bathroom (even if I immediately close the door) the bloody thing goes off...not helpful for me or my neighbours at 6:00am. Today I got home from work to the sound of it. There is no smoke no fire...nothing. Just a slight chill in the air, which I guess has slightly changed the humidity. This surely can’t be right?Please give me a replacement or give me a refundNovember update - no word from the seller. No offer of replacement. Poor quality - and poor customer service.

Easy to install and check to ensure working

Very neat, easy to instal, work when using test button, must try them with some real smoke! Pity they are so much smaller than the detectors they are replacing, as we now have an exposed rawplug in each ceiling.

Worked perfectly for first 18 months, then I had to replace the batteries, I purchased a cheap supermarket battery as replacement but I still getting the warning beeps. Then I look a bit closer at the unit, I was unaware and surprise to find out that this unit only supports a limited range of high end batteries. I purchased kidde as the last sealed unit worked for 5+ years without any problems, given the option again I would go for a sealed battery unit.

Conforme à ce que je voulais mais j'ai trouvé le prix élevé sans trouver mieux dans le commerce donc amazon est compétitif et surtout pratique, rapide. Très bien.
