Mentor in book form
This book is so well organized, concise and yet full of usable, applicable information. I know it is already making a difference in my teaching because it answers questions I have had and makes me feel more equipped. Knowing the reputation of the Suzuki method - in everything - piqued my interest and this book did not disappoint!

Speedy, accurate service
Suzuki handbook gives overview of his philosophies and techniques for students, parents and teachers. I ordered this and piano Vol 1, based on initial use for 3 days, will order other books in series. The first lesson emphasizes rhythm and listening for parents and students, based on the idea that we learn first by hearing and copying (language, for example) and that the learning will not fail or have time pressures. It is a very liberating perspective for me. Very well thought-out, each small step building easily to the next, so that the students enjoy successes all along the way. The successful actions spur on excitement and satisfaction and greater accomplishments through loving, harmonious lessons for all.

Just what I'd hoped
This book was exactly what I was hoping it would be. Gives an overview of the philosophy behind the Suzuki method, gives parents am understanding of how it works and what their responsibilities are and gives a step by step guide of how to teach each song.

Very helpful.
As a parent of a child just beginning Suzuki Piano, I have found it very helpful and interesting to read about the Suzuki philosophy, and see the thinking behind the way it is taught. I wouldn't say this is a must-guide for parents, but it helps explain the 'why' behind what is being taught for those who are interested in that, and that does help me support my son in the practice times during the week.

Excellent Book!
This book is a great introduction into the Suzuki philosophy and method. The first half of the book explains the thoughts behind the Suzuki method. Why they do what they do. The last half of the book, in great detail, explains clearly how to teach each song and what would be difficult about each song. If you are a teacher or a parent wanting to investigate the Suzuki method; this is the book for you.

Great reference
When combined with a Suzuki teacher workshop, this book is a great reference for teaching Suzuki piano. All the points from several training workshops are contained in one book. If you are a new or continuing teacher, this is an excellent book to have handy.

Indispensable for a first time teacher
When I started teaching a friend's son to play the piano I found myself digging through my memories to try to figure out how I should proceed. This book laid out why I was taught how I was taught and how its different for different students. The sections on how to teach each piece are very brief but still very helpful even if not comprehensive.

Excellent book for all piano teachers and parents with kids learning the piano
This book has some interesting thoughts and ideas for teaching kids, of course its about the suzuki method but I think the principles apply to all music learning especially for smaller children. I would highly recommend it. The only shame is that its such a huge book and only had of each page (OK maybe slightly more) is printed on thus the book could have been made a fair bit smaller)

A great book for any interested in the Suzuki method.
I have been looking for a book on the suzuki method, and I couldn't have found a better resource. It has tons of detail. It covers all the songs for all 7 books (piano). A lot of the methods are transferable to other suzuki instruments - philosophy and teaching help. Even parents will find this book helpful if their children are involved with Suzuki lessons.
