Great grater!
Previous to this, I had a grater that had very good, sharp cutters. Unfortunately, the frame of the box grater was made of a plastic that shattered after about 3 years of use. I was really torn between whether or not to buy another of the same thing - the cutters were the best that I had ever used, but the frame was just not up to snuff. Then, I found a review on Serious Eats that gave this grater the top rating, so I decided to purchase it.Well, I'm not disappointed! The cutters work very well - they're almost scary sharp, like my last box grater. I had a wedge of Parmesan cheese handy - just a few almost effortless strokes gave me a mound of perfectly grated cheese. Clean up was a breeze - if you use a sponge, just remember to always pass it over the teeth in the opposite way than when you grate. Otherwise you'll end up with a sink full of sponge shreds. The handle is fine, and the grater itself is all metal, so it shouldn't crack and fall apart if I drop it. The only thing that I'm on the fence about is my old grater had rubber-covered steel legs that held it about an inch off the surface I was grating on. That made it easier to use the entire grating surface (including the bottom rows of cutters), and would keep the shreds I was making from building up and compacting in the box - they could flow out onto the surface I was grating on. So, I could grate a whole bunch without having to empty the box. I guess I could always just hold the grater in one hand, the block of food in the other, and grate in the air over a bowl, but that gets a bit awkward if I'm grating something large, like a big heavy block of cheese. Oh, well, just a minor niggle - other than that, this thing is exactly what I was looking for!

A truly excellent box grater
Excellent box grater, with razor blade sharp cutting panels. I cook a lot and I mean every day, multiple times a day. My food processor is terrific but sometimes, a good box grater is all that’s needed and my very old, but also good one has gotten dull. I did what we all should do: research on the best I could afford. So glad I went with Cuisipro after reading many, many brands’ and chefs’ reviews. Maybe a different brand is good too but I can only speak about this one being completely perfect. The ginger/garlic grater that is part of the bottom cap is truly effective and easy to use, the whole thing is easy to clean, and I don’t have a single criticism of this product.

Perfect and high quality
Super sharp and sturdy. Works as it should. Not a fan of the plastic base insert - difficult to remove due to difficulty getting a grip due to sharp blades! Wish I replaced my old one a long time ago!

SHARP, very sharp!
This is a really nice grater and it is very sharp. Quality made.Shreds really well. Sliced tomato evenly. The handle grip is good. The only issue for me is how to use the extra ginger shredder.

Good, just not the best
The Cuisipro will replace a supermarket grater I've been using for a decade. A lot of reviewers like it the best, except ATK for some reason. Problem with them, is their choice is awful. I bought their top-rated Cuisinart and while it's half the price, and it did OK on the large holes, it's entire back side was a jagged horror show. I'm not sure what problem ATK has with etched versus stamped holes (they prefer stamped), but the Cuisipro doesn't seem to suffer from it (it's etched). It's very sharp. And I like the array of holes: large on one side, smaller on the other, and very small (think microplane) on the small side (the other small side is a slicer, which I'll never use and actually left the plastic on it. I really only need the front and back, so that's perfect. The downsides? I would prefer a rubber seal on the bottom, which you only get if you leave the base on. Also, while the top of the handle is comfortable plastic, the supports are metal and can be uncomfortable. And the price is the highest I've seen for any grater, and there's no free shipping.

Works well
Good product. Quality build. Sharp. If you are a dummy like me and you don’t wear a safety glove, then you will eventually cut yourself using this box grater in your cooking most days.

SHARP AND NEAT
A happy replacement for the box grater I have owned for years. The sizes of the shreds range from large to very small. It grated my Parmesan cheese quickly when I wanted to to my pasta. I especially like that the base has a coveepr which neatly catches the shreds. It gets a great recommendation from me.
