Big Clive did a review and teardown of this model test light on YouTube. I figured I'd get it because his review looked decent.A couple things-I added a length of heat shrink to the probe so only about 1/2" of the point is exposed. This is to help reduce the risk of shorting out what I'm testing to ground. I suggest this, for sure.The circuit board fits loosely in the handle. There's nothing keeping it straight in the tube. I cut n opening in a piece of heat shrink tubing and put it around the board... Now it fits snug, but I had to add a small spring between the board and the connection in the tube. Works well and sits straight now. Thinking about it now, I could have put two small loops of heat shrink (one on either end of the board) and I probably wouldn't have needed to add the small spring.Also (as per Big Clive's suggestion) I reversed the diode so it's green when polarity is correct, and red when it is reversed. Makes more sense that way. I also added a small piece of heat shrink around the diode to subdue it. The green is really bright.In the description it says 6-24v, but I am able to read down to about 3.2v accurately. Below that it starts to fade and bounce around. I assume it is because the microchip needs 3v to operate. I haven't tested the upper range because I don't want to kill it. I like this little thing.In the description (as well as in the images) it says it can read the voltage in forward and reverse polarity. The one I received does not. It only displays a voltage reading when the clip is negative and the probe is positive. This may be an issue in certain situations.The description also says it reads "frequency voltage"... I have no idea what that means, but I doubt this probe does anything with frequency.Overall, I am happy with this tester so far. It didn't take long to modify it to my liking, and it feels like it'll last for a good amount of time. I don't use these testers every day, so your mileage may vary. I don't think it'd hold up in a severe duty environment, but for a home gamer or light shop work, it is fine.

I really don't like to give a bad review but I do want to be honest. I received this light and put it to use on a car door panel problem with the switches. It worked but just looking at it looks cheap. The plastic body holding the electronics is thin and light. Don't want to drop or step on it like I tend to do. The edges, where the body is welded together, don't fit evenly and the edges are sharp and electronics rattle when you shake it. Tightening the cheap plastic end screw cap helps. The wire is too stiff for the clamp. When you stretch the wire moving to another location, it pulls the ground clamp off. It needs a stronger clamp or more limber wire, or both. This is really annoying. This is far from a heavy-duty tester as advertised. I'm probably not going to return it but I will never be happy with this tester so I give it one star simply because I don't think it will last no time if you use one regularly as I do.

Green light come on but no digital readout. Tried everything didn’t couldn’t do anything to make it work.
