Each of his books is chocked full of additional gems not found elsewhere
This book as well as all of the other books that I have purchased by Bradford Tyrey is not only a faithful translation of the original Chinese, but each of his books is unique in that they have additional gem throughout . This book has first hand commentary sourced from Fu Zhong Wen who studied with Xu Yu Sheng . I recommend his books to my students as well as my friends . I have all of his books and eagerly await his next book.

Key practice insights
This book may not be helpful to a beginner, but to an experienced Yang practitioner, there are insights into how to do various postures, especially brush knee, that I have never found anywhere else. Well worth the price. Yes, not everything can be understood at first, but wonderful to have insights going back to the formative years of Yang taichi.

Will Enhance Your Practice
This is an excellent work giving profound insight into Yang-style TCC. One could actually use the text to enhance and improve their practice through the clear expansive explanation of the postures and, more importantly, through the explanation of the application of the postures. This is a great resource.I find fault with the translation because the language can be obtuse to a contemporary reader. There are words and concepts which are culturally specific both to the broader Chinese culture as well as to TCC. The author provides clarity but not in all cases. This clarity is lacking when expanding on the more practical.

Not what it said it was.
It just said how to do the form and very little more.
