Aunt Eater Loves a Mystery (I Can Read Level 2)

Terrific for early readers and pre-readers. Simple but humorous situations. I enjoyed reading it repeatedly.

I like the fact that my grandson enjoyed this book and found it funny. I try to find books for him that he'll like.

My grandchildren enjoy my stumbling through reading this book due to Aunt Eater being so close to anteater. Story and illustrations are entertaining and appealing. One grandson likes to tell what's coming next and he giggles over this one a lot.

Though the book is described as an "I can Read Book 2," It is a wonderful book for pre-readers also. The stories are short and fun, and the language isn't as contrived as the 'Book 1' books. I would recommend these books for pre-schoolers.

Kids will love this book, a Reading Rainbow selection. Aunt Eater, who loves reading mystery novels, is the hero in each of the four stories. When Aunt Eater sees anything even slightly unusual, she thinks it's a mystery and sets out to solve it. Kids will enjoy figuring out the solution before Aunt Eater does, at least in three of the stories. In the first story Aunt Eater thinks somebody has stolen her luggage, but it's only a mixup. In the second, the funniest of the bunch, she attends a party and keeps seeing a "thief's" shadow on the wall. In the third, Aunt Eater receives what she considers a mysterious note in her mailbox, but it turns out to be from the mailman. And in the fourth, she very cleverly solves the problem of which cat out of one hundred cats is the runaway Sam. An enjoyable beginning reader.

Aunt Eater is a lovable ant eater who lives for mysteries. She not only reads them but sees them in her own life as well. She looks for clues, makes wild guesses and finally comes to the right conclusion.Each chapter is a new mystery with funny neighbors and situations. My boys have both enjoyed hearing and reading the Aunt Eater books. The illustrations are perfect and we think you'll enjoy our mystery maven too!

Although the book I received was damaged, the seller responded quickly in refunding my purchase. The book itself is great for any kind who loves mysteries.
