I love this book. The recipes make lovely tasty meals at a budget price; they are also pretty good in nutritional value while allowing for the occasional sweet treat. There are only 2 in our household so I either halve quantities or make the full amount and freeze the rest. Most budget cook books contain a lot of recipes using chickpeas and/or lentils, neither of which I can eat. Not THIS book....not a chickpea in sight, and only 1 recipe involving lentils; this by itself warrants 5 stars from me! The book is laid out well with many great photographs which contribute to the book's overall appeal. This would also be a good purchase for a student as a group of 4 could combine budget and cook some decent meals to share between them. The price is very fair considering the content. I recommend this book to anyone, whether an experienced cook, someone just getting interested in cooking, or students living away from home for the first time.

First saw Mitch on TikTok, he creates easy receipts at a bargain price. Bought the book and it didn’t disappoint, you can always add more ingredients to the dishes if you need to. But I’d definitely recommend if looking for meal ideas or cooking on a budget.

I have been following Mitch on Instagram for some time, so had to buy his book. I have not been disappointed, the recipies in this book are hearty and comforting. I am not much of a cake maker but I have made a couple of cakes from the book and have been pleased with the results. Easy to follow and clear a good cook book that I have added to my collection. Well done Mitch!

Lots of very good ideas for families on a budget. Good use of ‘normal’ shopping items. Can’t wait to try all the recipes. I’ve followed the writer on social media for a while. His food always looks amazing

I follow Mitch on SocMed so I’m probably biased, but this book is incredibly well written. Each chapter even has a table of contents, which make it really easy to navigate. For your next book (I have no doubt there’ll be one) I’d recommend little tips to posh it up i.e. using chorizo sausage for the hash rather than slices.Great recipes, and so many ingredients that are cheap and easy to use for other recipes.

I purchased this book for my teenager who wanted to learn to cook. It’s been an absolute hit so far , fromLentil Dahl to Sausage Casserole . The portions come out quite large so watch out for that .

This is a fantastic book for everyone. Everything detailed from costs down to instructions and therefore it's so easy to use. There's a recipe for everyone. Please try it.
