Better cue ball control
I’ve been switching between Blue Diamond chalk and the “other” common $.50 stuff. The chalk feels a little finer and gives more grip on contact. I think I can put more English without miscueing. How much more and how much is psychological is up for debate. The marks left on the cue ball seem to support my claim.

You Can Chalk Like Me, But You Can't Shoot Like Me
Well, I've used this chalk exclusively for about 20 years. I'm giving it 4 stars because I recently borrowed my buddy's Taom to 3D print him a custom, team chalk holder. When I did, I noticed that chalk came off my fingers SO much easier than this Blue Diamond.I haven't made a change yet, but on my last cube and have a big decision to make.

Best chalk out there for the money: effective, long-lasting, clean
Blue Diamond chalk is, by far, my favorite brand. It's more expensive than Master Chalk, but not by an awful lot. One cube also tends to last me a lot longer than a cube of Master. In fact, I almost always tend to misplace it long before I use it up. I think about chalk kind of like lighters: you can buy the cheap-out generic disposable lighter (Triangle, Silver Cup, Master) or you can pay dozens of times more for a fancy zippo (Kamui, Taom). Your best bet, however, is a trusty ole Bic that you're almost sure to lose before it's no longer functional. Blue Diamond is the Bic of billiards chalk.Of course, chalking before every shot as part of one's pre-shot routine is ideal, but sometimes when you get in the zone, it's preferable to just go with the flow and keep shooting the eyes off them balls. Sure, a $30 piece of Taom will let you shoot a whole rack without reapplying, but so will Blue Diamond. In fact, I find that a single application of Blue Diamond lasts almost as long as Taom or Kamui Roku (and, again, misplacing three sawbucks stings a lot more than three dollars). However, if you *are* following best practices and chalking regularly, Blue Diamond gets the job done and won't break the bank. It's also fairly clean, much more so than Predator or Kamui. Unlike several of the waxier high-end chalks, Blue Diamond tends to stay where it's supposed to (on the tip of your cue). This chalk is a little on the hard side, but it isn't difficult to apply by any means. It doesn't go on quite as smoothly as Predator, Kamui, or Taom, but unlike those chalks, it tends not to get all over the place. Try some Blue Diamond. You won't find a better bargain for high-end chalk (steer clear of other Longoni chalks, though. They're not even in the same league as BD, much less the same ballpark).

My go to chalk.
Blue diamond is supposed to be better than Master chalk. I no issues using either but I keep these on hand and use Blue Diamond more than anything else. I wish the color were just a little bit lighter shade of blue so it matched the color of my felt. (Tournament Blue Simonis) Toam Pyro is a better color match but is much much more expensive.

High quality chalk that goes on smooth.
This chalk works well for me. It goes on a little smoother than Masters. More importantly for me, not many people in the area use it which makes it easier for me to keep track of mine. I chalk up before every shot as part of my routine, this premium chalk is a treat.

Long lasting billiard chalk
If you are looking for some great billiard chalk, this is it. Does not break the bank, goes on soft, stays on cue, and lasts a long time. Amazing really! Highly recommend.

Actually disappointed....
I am an avid player, mostly 8 ball.On off work days, 5-6 hours is the norm and I love it.Cannot play leagues at night due to early a.m work schedule.About the Blue Diamond chalk. I had been using Blue Masters with zero complaints. It stayed on the tip, my spin/draw performance was fine.I saw review of chalks at pooldawg.com.It rated for spin production 3/5 blue masters, 4/5 Blue Diamond. That's why I bought 4 from amazon for $15.95. I'll leave Diamond chalk on tables for others; going backto Blue Masters.
