Zefal "Cristophe" Mountain Bicycle Half Toe Clip

I got these for riding in NYC where being clipped in could cause some problems and I love them. They're really easy to install and after reading the reviews about them falling off I just put some blue loctite on the bolts and they've held up just fine. These don't take much getting used to and they definitely do give you some power from the upstroke, working more of your legs, increasing speed and keeping your feet in the right spot, especially on hills. I'd recommend these to beginners for sure as they're so easy to get in and out of and let you get used to the "clipped in" experience before having to go through the big learning curve. Perfect for city riding and commuting with work shoes!

I bought two sets of these for my and my wife's Ebikes. They work perfectly, easy to get your foot in and out, but they also serve to stabilize the foot on the pedal and are especially valuable when you hit a bump and your feet might otherwise be knocked off the pedal from the impact. Excellent for in town riding, too, because you can get your foot off the pedal effortlessly if you have to stop at an intersection, etc. On our particular bikes, the bolts that came with the clips were too short, but I replaced them with longer ones from the hardware store for a few bucks and they attached fine. I would recommend these for sure. P.S. They're well made and should last.

I installed these toe clips on my Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc, a hybrid bike. They were easy to install, although no instructions were provided. The hardware included 4 screws, 4 nuts and two metal brackets (mystery metal...have no idea what they are for). I went to my local hardware store and purchased four #10 lock washers (star type) to make sure the screws don't come loose. Don't over-tighten - just past snug is good enough. The choices for size were S/M and L/XL. I wear a men's size 11 shoe, so I went with the L/XL clips. The ball of my foot is positioned correctly over the center spindle on the pedal. The tips of both my hiking shoes and cross-trainers are cradled comfortably and securely. The clips provide solid support and easy entry and exit. Though not designed specifically for increased lift, they certainly do provide an added assist in pulling up on the pedal (or pulling up on the clip), and more efficiency in pushing through and down. For my use, these are probably 5 star toe clips, but minus one star for not providing installation and sizing information (and those mysterious metal brackets which aren't needed...unless maybe they go on the inside of rubber or plastic pedals).

A Very solidly-built toe clip; nicely curved in front to receive the toe of my shoe and even prevents unwanted side to side movement. Performs well and very light, so my pedals are very easy to flip up and my shoe toe slides right into the clip . Easy to install, depending on your pedal design. Comes with screws and nuts, but I added split lock washers for extra security. The Extremely brief instructions do not say what the flat metal plates in the parts bag are for or where they should be installed. Those may be intended as a backing plate for the nuts, but the plates are too large and would not fit on the inside surface of my pedals, so I had to discard them. Instead I would have added a steel flat washer, but the screws are not long enough to accommodate that or the metal plates. Despite these minor shortcomings, I highly recommend these toe clips as excellent value for the price .

Three words of advice before installing these: get lock nuts. I learned this lesson the hard way. I installed these as replacements for a set of strap toe clips I had on my bike for fifteen years. After install and three rides, a fourth was cut short when my wife discovered one of the bolts and nuts was missing from the left toe clip. The companion bolt and nut were loose. I realize the nuts should be periodically checked and tightened, but after three rides? Rather than replacing just the missing bolt and nut pair, I went to my local hardware store and bought four stainless steel sets of a longer hex bolt, a washer that expands the nut head to the same diameter as the original bolt, and a nylon (nyloc) lock nut. The remaining original pairs I stashed for future use. After reinstalling the toe clips, I learned that having two washers on the bolt head side or something thicker (nylon, perhaps) would better emulate the original bolt head. Otherwise, it all locked down as hoped. I will post an update down the road after I've had a chance to thoroughly test this retrofit.

Use the clips on my old spin bike. They are good, really good. I'm not a serious spinner just spin when it suits me. Jeans and t-shirt and whatever shoes or boots that i'm wearing. The clips hold my feet in nicely no slip, never feel my foot may drop out. No messing around adjusting straps for different shoe types. Solid well made in France. Fixings come with the clips, simply screw on and you're away. Wish i had discovered these clips long ago.

I downgraded from clips to these on my daily commuter; clips were overkill IMHO and limits the shoes that one can use. L-XL fit perfectly for my size 10 foot. Quality product from a recognized name in bike accessories. All required hardware supplied, although I may upgrade to lock nuts at some point. Installation requires a slotted screwdriver and 8mm wrench and can be performed by pretty much anyone; just be sure to tighten them up with tools so that they don't fall off while you are riding!

Absolut top Produkt, kunstoff wirkt sehr hochwertig. Montage problemlos. Das einzige was nicht so recht passt sind die unterlegbleche, Schrauben Löcher sind zu eng am Pedal, aber mit etwas Geschick und einer runden schlesselfeile macht man einfach die langlöcher etwas länger, Problem gelöst. Natürlich könnte der Hersteller auch nachbessern aber es ging auch so sehr gut.. Absolut zu empfehlen, und bei 1 Tages Lieferung zum locker, was will man mehr. Achso und wer sagt die Schrauben sind nicht dabei, ich habe zwei bestellt und habe alle benötigten Schrauben dabei gehabt, wollte schon vorsichtshalber zum baumarkt aber den weg konnte ich mir sparen, und zur Not kann man den Verkäufer kontaktieren da wird man sich bestimmt einig.
