Reasons I love this thing:1.) Rechargeable = Saving Money.2.) I hate looking at the flame of a normal lighter. It can’t be good for anyone’s eyes. This ELIMINATES the flame.3.) It can light EVERYTHING. Cigarettes, Pipe tobacco. It’s like using a mini lighter because it only burns the exact spot you want it to.4.) The neck bends as you think it would. Really helps make this item useful.5.) It’s waterproof.6.) Best money I’ve spent in a hot minute.7.) I’m not a professional reviewer but if you still aren’t decided if this is what you want see if 1-6 would apply to you or are things you like as well.8.) I’m literally about to buy another one because I love this thing so much. It’s still working great and I’m getting a second one due to MY inability to keep up with anything. It became an instant must have. A daily necessity now.

Is the cover, when you open it the cover doesn't stand well, onless you hold it.

I LOVE this lighter!! I can charge it once, twice a week depending on how heavily I use it (my charging port is NOT loose as others have stated) and I am not tossing out disposable lighters and spending $$ buying disposable lighters! I've had this for several months now, and it's still all good. The flip top and corner lanyard hole provide fidget entertainment for me, which my family does NOT appreciate (but I totally do)! I have extended the inside to light my fire pit, which is why I bought this. I do find the extension a bit too short for my taste as I have another rechargeable lighter with a full length extension I feel safer lighting a grill or fire pit with. I'm not knocking any stars for that because it's my personal preference to have a longer extension! I don't like the light button where it is, but it's the only spot for it under the lid (again, my personal preference would be a on/off lock and ignite button outside the lid). For THIS design, I can leave it outside no problem. I can toss it in a bag without worrying lighter fluid could leak out (because there is none), or the ignite button accidentally getting pushed if something rested on top of it (because it's under the latched lid) and take it anywhere!

I have a couple of the regular versions of this lighter that I use for hiking and camping. The only problem with them is that they're not very good for lighting candles or fireplaces, so I have to light twists of paper instead. The gooseneck extension means I can reach a wick of a firestarter tucked into a wood pile without difficulty. Having an extra lighter also means I'm not always running down the battery on the one in my hiking pack.

One of those things that you order thinking " ya I'll use that...for...something" so it sat in the box and THEN LIGHTENING STRUCK THE CLOCK TOWER, as I needed an ?articulable? long neck lighter to light a weird camp stove (that I had already lost eyebrows on.....) AND STOP THE PRESSES! I remembered I had got this lighter...saved the day.

I bought this lighter to use lighting a propane weed burner. The weed burner is hard to light in the wind. I've used it for several weeks and it has worked great. No problems. I didn't rate the battery because I haven't had it long enough to recharge it. It also works great for lighting camp stoves.

Difficult to light cigarettes, forget about cigars or camp fires.
