World Textiles (World of Art)

I think this book would be in the library of anyone who collectsor designs textiles. Even without the color photos of each type oftextile, the information on technique and history would mark it asan frequently used reference.

by adding this book to my library, my knowledge and understanding of the development of textiles has been expanded. and i have some interesting odd ball facts i can throw at friends.

Great colourful history of textile book for all groups of readers

The title page states that there are 210 illustrations, with 106 in color.This may be the case with *some* versions but not with the one we purchased directly.It is a shame, as the cover image is in colour. You'd think that a book on textiles would place some emphasis on colour of same.

Das Buch umreißt die Entwicklungsgeschichte der Textilien ganz gut.Wer aber mehr darüber wissen will oder schon einige Bücher zu diesem Thema hat, der wird hier enttäuscht. Immerhin heißt der Titel übersetzt ja "eine KNAPPE Geschichte der Textilien der Welt".Und so ist es dann auch- alles auf das Wesentliche reduziert.Besonders die zum Verständnis notwendigen Abbildungen sind etwas mager und die gezeigten Fotos eher uninteressant.Trotzdem: Für den Einstieg nicht schlecht.

The book wasn't in a great condition as it was stated. I am disappointed, however, I should still enjoy reading the book.
