Highly recommended!
One word.... Brilliant!I trawled thru a lot of similar products and just glad I chose this one.I was able to remove old varnish on my kitchen worktops with a flat edged tool similar to what you would use your remove old wallpaper.Didn't find sanding blocks useful! It goes on smoothly and evenly and goes a long way.It doesn't have a heavy smell like other oil/varnish productsGave a glorious shine on my wooden kitchen work surfaces. When I spilt water on the wood a few days later, it just sat on the surface of the wood and didnt soak into it.Applied three coats to each section.Did one section at a time to maximise remaining worktop space usageProb about a day and a half to dry, depending on room temperatureYou won't go wrong using this,

Fantastic product & easy to apply
I bought this together with the Osmo wood protector & the results are fantastic, even for someone like me who has absolutely no expertise & has never attempted to restore a worktop before. First I sanded down my old & very misused oak kitchen worktop, then wiped & vacuumed the surface to ensure it was totally free from any dust. This preparation is really worthwhile even though I still couldn't remove one really deep scratch. Although the instructions say only 1 coat of the Osmo protector is needed, I applied 2 thin coats with a flat brush (my worktop needed this extra treatment). The liquid is runny so very easy to apply & it goes a long way. I then applied 2 coats of Osmo Top Oil - clear satin , also with a flat brush as I just find this easier to use than a lint free cloth for the final coat (as recommended in the instructions). Although I was a bit apprehensive about using a brush rather than a cloth for the final coat, I couldn't be more pleased with the result. The wood is certainly darkened by the treatment, but as it had become so dry & bleached looking before, the darker colour shows the grain properly & enhances the appearance of the worktop with a beautiful sheen. The scratch is still visible but the surface is smooth. As other reviewers have said, Osmo makes worktops look like new. This, in turn, enhances the overall appearance of the kitchen. I thoroughly recommend it

Great polish
Bought this to put a nice finish and shine to a man cave bar top made of walnut wood. Was easy to apply and did a splendid job of a finish. Still looking great. It is pricey, but if it’s quality you want you can’t go wrong. Could have used a smaller tin as it goes a long way!

Great product
This product is great. We dipped our Victorian doors and I lived the pale colour but knew they needed some moisture. This product does that. The doors look amazing. It does bring them up darker, but it is only their natural colour. It goes on with a brush really easily and you can see where you’ve added it and the wood suck it up. I wanted a slight lustre and I really like the finish, it’s Matt in essence apart from the grain has a slight sheen, it’s not shiney or like a varnish at all. I would say, this isn’t the cheapest option. The can is much smaller than I’d anticipated and is expensive at between £17-20 per 750ml. We goth through 5 cams to do 10 doors (back and front). I had thought it would be like a natural oil but it’s more like a varnish, you’ll need white spirit to clean brushes and dust sheets if your not taking down doors. It’s very sticky so I’d also wear gloves. It is very strong in smell too, so you’ll need a well ventilated room. I’d definitely use this product again. My brothers a professional decorator and recommend that I use Osmo and I wasn’t disappointed.

Great product
I checked the photos and apparently the colour should look clear not white when you open the bottle. I just lightly sanded and applied it twice. Waited more than a day between each application to dry out completely. Very easy to use and didn’t change the colour of my bar. Recommend

Superb finish
This is one of the best satin and matt lacquers available today, and the best worktop finish so far devised. It can be re-applied in worn areas without leaving a witness mark and leaves a very hard-wearing finish that is food safe. The first coat can be applied with a brush, but must be brushed out to as thin a finish as possible. For 2 or 3 additional coats the Osmo oil should be applied with a fine rag in the same manner as French polishing used to be: Apply the oil to the rag formed into a pad and rub in the oil, rubbing with the grain. Pouring oil onto the worktop will result in far too much oil being applied, and this will leave an uneven finish. This same process will give a superb finish to furniture, and it is a far superior matt or satin finish to the mainly third rate water based lacquers available today.

Lovely oil
Brings the grain up lovely. Apply thin coats and rub down with 400grit between coats. It does need *at least* 8 hours between coats or it will clog up the sandpaper. Picture is of an oak staves worktop treated/untreated. A little goes a long way. Multiple coats on 2m wide x 720mm deep worktop (both sides) only used just over half of the tin.
