Healthful Home® 5-Minute Home Mold Test (Aspergillus, Penicillium, Stachybotrys)

Tested positive to most dangerous Mold(STACHYBOTRYS) in all rooms and other Toxic mould spores present eg Positive test on the Aspergillus/multiple penicillins test too.Sent off 3 swabs to John in Essex who runs Mould test labs. Got positive confirmation back within 7 days by email which was very detailed and rated all swab test mould spore results as 'very poor'Cost less than £60 and showed original in box test as HIGHLY ACCURATE!No need for £300+ call out, till you get to the lawyer stage!Gave me the confidence to seek Shelter advice centre, C.A.B. + Personal injury Lawyer to sue my Agency + Landlord who have subjected me to nearly 5 years of Toxic Mould due to rising damp/water in the walls, them lying that I was causing the condensation.(the black mould only grows about 1ft above skirting board where walls are soaking wet all year round. Ditto in other flats in the building. Vile money grabbers!)At this stage you should be calling out your local council Environmental Health inspectors. They do a free inspection of the property and slap legally bound "enforcement notices" on the landlord to remedy rising damp/clear killer moulds up.I never realised just how dangerous Black Mould is (on a par with Asbestos Class 1 harmful to humans)and have now shown my Dr who can now begin treatment & refer me to a specialist at hospital.I have all the symptoms of poisoning.(hint - Found via USA medical/med-lawyer websites!)UpdateI have had blood tests and they have confirmed my White Blood cell count is raised(Which means body is working overtime fighting the Mould toxins - you can seriously harm yourself by taking a course of anti-biotics - Drs are clueless in the UK!Black Mould poisoning isn't even on their NHS internal medical reference website - unbelievable!)I also found out that some of these mould spores are actually Carcinogenic (cancer causing)The mould spores get into your lungs/stomach and via blood the toxins produced get into other organs in your body and can shut them down - leading to death!Making my surgery take this seriously is proving difficult and access to hospital toxicologist specialist zero - so far!(cos most of them (Drs) don't know about the symptoms or treatment.)If it doesn't improve I will switch surgeries!Test kit is easy.Pull out the two sample testers and earbud spatchelor.Pull top thick tube away from thin tube.If wall/mould isn't wet enough for swabbing wait till you break the top bit to let the swabbing fluid thru.Give it a few squeezes to pump fluid down to cotton bud.Redo a swabbing when wet if it hasn't picked up enough black.push cotton bud swab back into thin tube.give it shake for 10secsCut and open your outer foil packets of the two test kits.Pull the white cap off below swab cotton bud.Very gently squeeze the THIN tube so five droplets fall into the circle on the test kit.Wait for result to appear as instructions!You get up to 3 extra swabs that you can send away for lab analysis in Essex and written confirmation back via email. (PAY Xtra)Once you get a positive start proceedings - get the Mould pro's in (don't forget to charge Landlord your expenses)Shelter told me one Landlord was fined over £30,000 plus costs for ignoring requests to remedy damp.Plus a personal injury lawyer will help claim long/short term medical costs against Agent/Landlord(CAB have now put me in touch with one)Landlords are liable to find hotel etc accomodation, new carpets/curtains/clothes ruined etc whilst the toxic mould and damp are sorted plus mould spores taken out of atmosphere by company.Good Luck.PS. Great Product Very accurate!

I don't write reviews very often, but I am doing so for this product and only giving it 2 stars. I want to make it clear to potential buyers what you are getting for your money - as I don't believe it was clear when I bought this.Setting out the positive point first. You will get a test that allows you to test ONCE for different types of molud. You get 2 separate sampling devices: one tests for Stachybotrys and the other for Aspergillus / Penicillium. I am not a chemist, so I defer to others on this. You get a swab that you can use to capture something in your house - dust, scraping from walls etc. You mix this swab with a fluid of sorts and drip it into these testing devices and you get a result as to whether those mould spores are present in your sample. I cannot claim whether the test is good or not, but that's what you get. ONE TEST.You also get three separate "Sterile Polyester Tipped Applicators" (swabs to me) with which you can take further samples. HOWEVER the enclosed card says these additional tests need to be sent to the lab at a price of 42 EUR per swab for microanalysis. You need to add 4 EUR for mailed results and 28 EUR for rushed analysis.I have not used this additional service. I make no claims whether it is good or bad.If you are buying this product then hopefully this review makes it more clear what you are getting for your money.

I believe the purpose of this test kit it to sell the professional testing services, as the mold test is always invalid where the other one gives a result. Not trustworthy at all.

Easy to use the instruction is in English and you have results in minutes. The result was negative for me and I trust the product is accurate. I can smell damp air in the bedroom so this is the only room i decided to test. I also used a devise that measures moisture in the wall and it showed the same results. I am still investigating where the damp comes from but nothing visible.

The test kit works as described, no problems with it. The only downside is that is a bit pricey. Only one kit often is not enough, you will need at least 2 (for bathroom and living-room for example). I would recommend the manufacturer to offer the option for a kit with 2 or 3 tests in it with better price than you take it separately.

Very good product. The two test trays showed traces of mould there. It was faint but the lines appeared. To confirm how bad it was and what was there I used the three extra swabs in the kit and sent them off. It cost an extra £60.00 but came back a week later with a detailed report saying what was there and in what quantities. Recommended.
