Album of the Year
I had heard of Frank Ocean before this album, after listening to his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra repeatedly since I got my hands on a copy therefore when I heard about Channel Orange I was excited to see what he had to offer next. I can safely say that I was not disappointed.Frank Ocean is one of the best musicians around right now. Listen to the album from start to finish and you'll have to hit repeat. My favourite track on here has to be Lost, closely followed by Bad Religion, where Ocean's vocal's are full of raw emotion.9 minute long Pyramid is also fantastic. Earl Sweatshirt's vocals on Super Rich Kids, adds an extra element to the track which I really like. John Mayer and Andre 3000 also contribute to the album. All in all it's a fantastic album and I don't think I could fault it in any way, picking out a favourite track is hard because I pretty much love them all.I would definitely recommend this album, in fact I already have to the majority of my friends who know all love it too!

(His) Music is a healthy addiction
Music is a healthy addiction and hence is his voice, his lyrics, his compositions, the depth and personal way in which he expresses the emotions I feel everyday or ever felt in my entire life, or the ones I have yet to feel of which I feel I can get a glimpse thanks to his wonderful art. The two tracks that move me in ways I cannot describe are Bad religion and Pink Matter, and attempting to sing along is like therapy, understanding the lyrics a mystery and despite it I feel immersed in the amazing stories Frank Ocean is trying to share. I really loved this album, not gonna lie, not every track is for me, but the ones that are they do really cause a wonderful commotion inside of me, perhaps you could say, on my soul.

There is an essence to Frank Ocean's songs that remind me of Jimmy Webb compositions.
There is an essence to Frank Ocean's songs that remind me of Jimmy Webb compositions. Not too sure if Mr Ocean is a Webb fan? However, if like your singer song writer style music and fancy dipping into something a little more modern and electronic, then I'd give this album a twirl. "Super Rich Kids" stands out for me and he's got to be the first person I've heard of to make Arkansas sound interesting. Overall this album is on my iPod and I'm listening to it and enjoying it. I find that that doesn't happen too often when you get older.

Classy
This album is exactly what music needs right now, Frank Ocean is as talented as he is classy; he raps, he sings and he conveys emotion brilliantly through his work, there's no gimmicks here, it's just pure, understated R'n'B. A lot of the music sounds very similar to Drake's R'n'B work, except Ocean's vocals are on another level. Personal favourites for me are Forrest Gump, Lost and Super Rich Kids, plus the crowning Jewel of the album 'Pink Matter' which is genuinely one of the best songs that I've heard this year. It shows off Ocean's full vocal potential and the verse from Andre 3000 is just sublime, well worth a listen even if you don't buy the whole album. It's hard to believe that Frank Ocean is a member of OFWGKTA when this album sits entirely on the other side of the spectrum, but even with features from Earl and Tyler, the album manages to maintain an air of maturity about it, which is refreshing to hear.

Album of the Year contender
I had never heard of Frank Ocean until the BBC Sound poll this year. After listening to his free mixtape nostalgia, I was immediately hooked by his lyrics, vocals and style. A voice I feel I have heard before but is also completely original and fresh. Channel Orange is another masterpiece. Favourites are Bad Religion, Thinkin bout you, Pyramids, Pink Matter and Forrest Gump. One of my favourite albums this year along with new work by Jessie WareDevotion and SolangeTrue
