-strong velcro-Fits R or L-moderate support thumb and wrist-metal stays-I hurt the top of my wrist and thumb-again. My old support was falling apart. It’s difficult to find a support wrap that supports both the wrist and thumb. They do wear out eventually with use. This looked identical so I purchased it.I was surprised at the quality since I paid over 3x more for the old one I had. It’s adjustable, has removable metals stays in the thumb and is comfortable. The Velcro is very strong. It’s easy to use and supportive. And, you can use for Right or Left.It was perfect for my injury since i didn’t need a longer one. It provides moderate support and supports about 1/2 the thumb. It was perfect for my needs. You can remove metal stays and hand wash it too.It’s rare for me to give 5 stars but this deserved it for the quality, moderate support and the value price.

I'm a Pharmacist by training. I was taught NEVER to give the customer too many choices because they get confused and don't buy anything. HOW VERY TRUE and this is a problem with Amazon; although sometimes a blessing!I have a very old neoprene wrist support that somewhat covers my thumb. It is coming apart, so I needed a replacement now that my thumb is arthritic and aching. I searched Amazon and saw perhaps hundreds, many of which look identical but under different brand names.I was going to buy a very popular model but was reluctant because of NUMEROUS comments that it comprises two layers that are GLUED together and come apart.THEN I saw this one. My package was just delivered. It was EASY to put on and get reasonably snug. It is nicely STITCHED around the edges (although it may have glued layers - I can't tell). It is SOFT and VERY COMFORTABLE. NO sharp edges; nothing to irritate the skin between thumb and forefinger. The velcro type fastening is super. Some people complained that the velcro type fasteners around the thumb wear out quickly. I did NOT need to loosen or undo them to get my thumb in place!There is NO odor from this product out of the package! It DOES get "funky" from sweat!FOUR WEEKS LATER - STILL SUPER PLEASED. My Doc diagnosed my pain as "CMC arthritis or basal joint arthritis" - pain where my thumbs joins my hand (very common). Doc also commented that this thumb restraint is excellent for my use for a month or so to give the joint some rest. This week I will machine wash and air dry it.

Good construction, adjustable fit to different size hands. Helps to stabilize the MCP thumb joint as well as holds heat to aid in warming the joint and decreasing pain.

Fits comfortably and keeps my thumb from moving.

It can get very sweaty on warm/hot days. The neoprene smell is pervasive. It is pretty easy to put on and comfortable otherwise.

Excellent product for the price fits very comfortable and does the job.

Back around 1989 I was working on my Jeep when I forced a lug-wrench to un-stick a lug-nut and I suddenly found my thumb bent backwards -- I was horrified!In a panic (knowing that every second I waited the pain from resetting my dislocated thumb would go up exponentially), I grabbed my thumb and yanked it into the direction it was normally pointed, and with a little luck it went back into place.After the usual ice-pack and later warm-compresses, I knew that my thumb was now going to haunt me for the rest of my life -- especially as I grew older.And more than thirty-five years later here I am with infrequent pain as I had expected. When the pain goes away I realize it will return the moment I grasp something tightly while using that thumb; problem is that I forget about the condition of my thumb until it's too late, and I'm once again in agony.This splint essentially keeps my thumb in a neutral position and prevents my thumb from getting into a position where I will hurt it again. I can still play guitar, albeit it feels rather awkward at first and it does put some limitation on my dexterity.I also believe that true joint-replacement of this sort isn't going to happen in my lifetime. After trying out several thumb-splints, this one so far seems to be working better than those I've tried in past.

The thumb support is very good. Not sure it will last forever but at the price they are charging buy 2.
