INCREDIBLE ,DEVELOPPED FROM KIDSMOVIE TO A REAL FANTASTIC THEATERMOVIETHE MEDUSA ,THE KRAKEN ,CALIBOS,THE GODS ,THE SCORPIONS,THE STORY,SCRIPT,THE ACTING, EVERYRHING IN THIS MOVIE HAS GONE UP TO HIGHER STANDARDSONLY ONE THING I FELT IS MINOR ,BUT THAT COUNTS FOR ALL MOVIESON DVD,WHEN THEY PLAY THE THEATRE VERSION IN THE THEATRE ITSELF,I UNDERSTAND THE TIME IS LIMITED ,BUT WHEN YOU BUY THE DVD TO PLAY ATHOME ,WE HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD AND THE LONGER THE RUNNING TIME THE MORE PLEASURE WE GET OUTOF OUR DVD'S,WITH OTHER WORDS ,WHY DO THEY TAKE ALL THE SCENES OUT AND PUT THEM AS DELETED SCENESPLEASE PUT THEM IN THE MOVIES ON DVD FOR US AT HOME TO WATCH AS A TOTAL FILMFOR DETECTION OF PIRACY IS THIS ALSO A POINT ,BECAUSE NOW YOU CAN DETECT THEM ON RUNNING TIME ANDSUBTITLES WHERE THEY WHERE PIRATED

A remake/reimaging of  Clash Of The Titans [DVD] [1981 ]. Dropping the stop motion creatures and robes of the original to go for a look intended to be a bit grimmer and gritter. If you're familiar with the original then forget about it here and now, because new versions work better judged on their own merits. And despite one nice little homage to the original in here, this is a different movie in many ways.Foundling child Perseus is saved from the gods and taken in by Greek fishermen. Who seem unconcerned about his origins or his accent as he grows to adulthood with them. Perseus comes over as being a bit tightly wound but his foster family make him happy. Till the gods kill them. At which point he gets a bit annoyed. Either that or his shoes are too tight.Meantime on Mount Olympus the gods aren't happy with humanity. And Perseus isn't happy with the gods. Neither are people in the city of Argos where Perseus ends up. All the defiance of the former leads to them being slapped down and a promise of terrible retribution. It's up to Hades and a motley crew of warriors to go on a quest which could save the day.Battles with monsters rendered with cgi rather than stop motion follow. Mythical creatures are encountered. Truths are learnt. And lives are changed. And there's a big fight to be had.The look of the film is quite nice and stylish. Some of the set pieces are decent entertainment, although the fight with medusa is a bit too dark for perfect clarity. But the feel of the whole thing is like a video game. Steady progression from level to level fighting bigger baddies on the way.And yet it does have two excellent performances. Ralph Fiennes is great as Hades, really convincing as a being who has spent his whole life in the dark and would like everyone else to do the same because of that. And Gemma Arterton is superb as Io. Cursed by immortality to watch loved ones age and die her body language superbly conveys the pain Io feels from this and her desperate hope that Perseus can free her from this.This also looks much better on dvd than it did in the cinema, where the 3d was an unnecessary addition that didn't really help the quality of the image at times. It's much better looking in 2d.An undemanding piece of escapism. And if you don't expect too much from something like that, then you won't be disappointed.But that's just my opinion. The variety of those on offer here means it's best to think hard before you watch or buy.This is a single disc dvd.Languages: English, ItalianSubtitles: English, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian, Swedish.The disc begins with a trailer for blu ray that can be bypassed via the next button on the dvd remote.The only extras are seventeen minutes worth of additional scenes. There's no option to watch them individually so they have to be done in one go and one has unfinished special effects. Most are moments of exposition and dialogue but some are quite good. And they show you a lot more of some of the gods than was seen in the final cut.

This film was roundly slated at the time of release and I suspect a lot of people would have avoided it for that reason. Watching the film now, it's good entertainment admittedly a no-brainer fantasy/action movie. The original had an inventive charm with the stop motion but I enjoyed this modern update and also just how keen Sam Worthington was to perform the stunts (see the extras). I'm not convinced he is much more than competent in the lead role here but he looks the part. Look out for the trailers for "Wrath of the Titan's" where he has ditched the cropped hair for a bubble cut mullet, it's likely more historically accurate a style but I'm not convinced it suits him.This is an easy to watch film and the special effects somehow look better in 2D rather than 3D aside from the weird uber-glow of the gods armour, it looks better in the extras as just highly polished metal. The deleted scenes are interesting as there is one scene lead by Zeus which was also filmed with a different character.

Excellent remake. The film is an updated version of the classic story with enhanced special effects. There are some notable creatures including giant scorpions and most notably a giant sea creature 'The Kraken'. Medusa makes an appearance and so does a mechanical owl. The plot follows the story of Perseus and his mission to defeat 'The Kraken' before it destroys civilization.

I AM NOW 49,I CAN REMEMBER JASON & THE ARGONAUTS etc,etc.THEY DO STILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME (CLASSICS)I AM PLEASED TO SAY I REALLY ENJOYED THIS FILM,THE OWL I AGREE SHOULD HAVE HAD A BIGGER PART.NONE THE LESS I FEEL IT HAD ALL THE ELEMENTS TO ENTERTAIN,CGI FANTASTIC,BUT SO IT SHOULD BE NOWADAYS.I THOUGHT PEGASUS WAS WHITE (ALBINO) NEVER MIND.DONT PICK AT IT ENJOY IT.IT IS WHAT IT IS ENTERTAINMENT & GOOD.IT WILL BE WATCHED MORE THAN OTHERS AGAIN I THINK.SCARY IN PLACES,BEING ONLY A 12 & OVER.BUY IT ENJOY IT..

I went to the odeon twice to see this and cant wait for the blu ray. i dont know how anyone can say its no good its amazing and 100 times better then the old one. just coz there old dont always make them classics. also the 3d version was out of this world. hades and the smoke in 3d was just amazing and the huge scorpions etc just wicked would give it a 10 if there was that option.roll on dvd/blu ray combi.......

If you like Greek Mythology you will love this movie. The CGI was great.

Very good remake. The original has some very memorable scenes and this one updates them very well. Good action you'd expect from the mythical Gods movie sect. Well done.

Good movie, with some twist and turns.
