RhinoShield MOD for iPhone X - Modular Case with Rim, Button, Frame, Clear Back Plate - Black

I really like this Mod case. The material and workmanship are excellent. It is easy to put the case on and take it off. I am really happy you can convert from a bumper case to a full case. I love the choice of back plate mods that are available on their website. I've seen multiple reviews of this case on youtube and it offers great protection. The review from Yahoo was probably the most entertaining.It is a little more bulky than my Apple leather case however, it offers a lot more protection.It goes well with the Belkin glass screen protector that I had applied in the Apple store.The ONLY thing I don't really like about the case is the clear backplate that comes with the case. It is a finger print magnet. I might get over it in time but I'd really like to have a non smooth back plate that doesn't show finger prints. My wife got the same case and doesn't seem to mind. They sell one on their website that has a carbon fiber pattern. I've emailed them to see if I can purchase that particular back plate by itself.I definitely recommend this case over any other. I think this case offers the best bulk/protection ratio out there.

So let me start with the pros of this case. This case is great when it comes to protecting your phone from drops which IMO is the most important function of any case.Now the bad. From the very first day I recieved this case I noticed the back cover was going to be a problem. The back cover scratches way too easily. This back cover is horrible and makes my new iPhone look cheap. I hope Rhinosheild looks in to the material used on these back covers because they are just bad.Btw I’ve only had the case for less than 7 days and I work in a office.

Great product. I bought along with ThanoTech's K11 bumper case, and I like the Mod a lot more. The latter feels nice and smooth in the hand (albeit a little thicker), while the former is a little rough and the buttons are harder to press. I bought this to use as a bumper case, so I can't verify whether it scratches easily or not. However, the back plate is plastic and it feels pretty meh; I recommend getting a glass screen protector for the back instead.The product offers great protection (go watch drop tests of this case and you'll see how durable it is) and doesn't feel bulky at all. From what I've seen, the back plate doesn't really do much and is more for aesthetic; the real protection comes from the case itself, and this is why I recommend going with a back screen protector instead. As stated, the case doesn't feel bulky and this is coming from someone who normally uses phone naked or with a skin, but I don't think I can afford to do that with this phone. Since I don't really drop phones anyway what I wanted was just something to protect the side stainless steel from scratching. I could get a skin, but that would prevent me from feeling the glass back, so the middle ground is a bumper case.After researching, I saw that this brand makes excellent bumper cases and decided to buy one to try it out. Yeah, it is a little thick, but the curves of it gives the feeling of being smaller than it actually is. And if you use this as a bumper, being able to feel the glass back of the phone (or a glass screen protector) makes it feel like there's no case at all. Why did I purchase this over the RhinoShield CrashGuard if I plan on using it as a bumper anyway? Because the Mod is an improved design of the CrashGuard.The only gripe I have about this case is the buttons: I realize that the buttons are supposed to be removable, but it's not a perfect fit. The buttons rattle a little bit, but that's not too bad. What's really annoying though is the power button: the volume button presses fine and has a tactile feel, however, the power button is completely flushed in with the case and you can't really get a feel of it. If I use ONLY the Mod case with no bumper or back, then the button presses fine, but problem resumes as soon as either one is attached. Note: in my case (no pun intended) the issue is the power button, but I've heard the same thing about the volume buttons from others as well.The verdict? The button thing annoys me a little and I wish they made this in a clear color, but overall I like the case; it's a good middle ground between a skin and full on case, and a good alternative to going caseless.

I've been a huge RhinoShield fan and it was my first case that I knew I NEEDED for my iPhone X. Unfortunately, they missed the mark on this case. The clear back is marred and scratched beyond belief (I had micro scratches on it immediately after installation) and it holds body oils making it a case that I felt like I had to continually wipe down. If they offered this case in their usual matte full body like prior models, I'd be willing to give it another chance, but the Mod is a miss for me. I've since replaced it with a matte feeling case and while not as protective, feels better in the hand. I really wanted to like this case and had already planned on buying the colored buttons to customize, but I've moved on.

The case is probably the best protection for as low profile as it is. My only major issues where 2 things the bumper portion of the case the hard rubber stuff fits pretty good except at the bottom there’s some sag even from first application and if I tilt my phone down I can see quite a gap. The power hole and the side hole where you can toggle silent mode there’s even a bigger hole I was hopping this would be somewhat more sealing and flush to the phone like other brands like lifeproof I work outside as a wildland firefighter and use my phone during work for navigation purposes I like the case cause it works well with wireless chargers and is about half as bulky as the otter box but I have a concern that I will want some kind of neoprene sleeve on top of this to avoid dirt water and whatever else’s to easily make its way inside which would leave me having to repeatedly remove case to clean. That leads me to my next 2 cons and thats the fact this case once on is very difficult to take off with the different materials the plastic guard at the back is somewhat flimsy and I’m sure with frequent use is going to snap easily and the one they send you with (clear) is a hard plastic and extremely prone to scratches so if you don’t work outside you still may want something soft to set it down on.

It does a great job at protecting the iPhone X. I've dropped it a few times, and the bumper looked a bit scratched on the corners for a few days.

My phone has fallen a million times and it’s still intact. Great product

I purchased direct from the Rhinoshield site. Upfront I have had the case a for many months now and cant use it. Why? The bumper is very slick. It easily slips out the hands.

I bought this case because of two reasons. #1. Wanted a bumper case with relatively good protection #2.

The bumper aspect works great. However, the clear back plate easily scratched during my first attempt to put on my iphoneX.

Dropped my phone with this case on recently and it did what it’s suppose to. Protect my phone. Worth the purchase

it is so durable with bumper, dropped 6ft not broken but the backplate shatered from waist height

Modular bumper with back plates fit well and was nice without adding much bulk to iPhone X. There is no lay on the table and screen is completely exposed to a flat drop.

It is protective. Back scratches very easily. The clear back when fit into the iPhone X does produce a watermark rainbow effect on the back of the phone.

Does not fit as well as i hoped, buttons are flimsy and the bumper is super slippery. Not nearly worth the price tag.
