I was getting mixed reviews on here and the directions were a little confusing so i called the company. Long story short, if it turns orange, its some type of amphetamine (meth) If it turns a dark purple Its MDMA. This test kit represents the A at the top of the chart, If you would like to test further to figure out exactly what it is, you would get another test kit, depending on the letter that matched the color. Let's face it, knowledge is power. I used this test kit to identify suspicious unmarked tablets found in the garbage of a dead-beat tenant. This General kit pointed me to the class of narcotic. If I wanted to narrow it down further, I would have to get another more specific kit; however, for my purpose this did the trick and it was very easy. The instruction pamphlet provided with the kit at first was a little intimidating, but after carefully reading it, it made sense. I could definitely see using this kit if you have suspicions of pills that you found on your teen. Use our knowledge wisely.

Don't listen to anyone saying this is a bad product. You get exactly what's listed- a Marquis reagent test in their own single use packets. Came with 10 of them. You can google search "Marquis reagent colors" and find what each color means if the flow chart provided is too confusing. Dark Purple/Black is MDMA or MDA, Orange to brown is Meth, bk-mdma or methylone is yellow to list a few common ones. Wikipedia has a list of reactions with appropriate colors
