Recently used it and it is so easy
This product works very well and is also very small. I use it for my knives on one side and for Chinese cleavers on the other side

As advertised
This little gadget is great. I love that it has both the American and the Asian cutting sharpeners. I took it to my sisters house to sharpen all of her knives. She didn't even know I'd done so but realized I had after cutting though a really thick bone in roast. Its a good weight and easy to hold in place while sharpening. Oh yeah the roast was delish!

Not a bad sharpener
Sharpens the Henckels knives well, but not "razor" sharp. Still, much better than before. Worth the expense and effort. Easy to use. Sharpens both standard and Japanese angled blades.

Much heavier than I expected.
I am a big fan of ZWILLING J.A. because of its good quality. At the beginning, I was looking for another ZWILLING J.A. stainless steel Knife Sharpener which I purchased before. However, it seems it is discontinued by the manufacturer. I have to switch to this one. From the pic on the amazon website, It looks like it has many plastic parts which made me very concerned about its durability. But when I received the package and opened the box, I was so surprised that it was much much heavier than I thought. I have to say ZWILLING J.A. is always ZWILLING J.A., hahaha, high quality, very reliable. It is still easy to use and matches my ZWILLING J.A. knife perfectly. Cuz I use an Asian kitchen knife, I just use the Asian (not standard) side so far. It is good after pulling back and forth, the blade is very sharp. Five stars for sure.

If you want sharp knives, buy this
If you have ZWILLING kitchen knives, this is a must. It will keep your knives super sharp for years. It is very simple to use and generally takes only a minute. It is a pull-through sharpener with both a "fine" and a "course" slot. It can keep your knives very sharp with little effort on your part. This particular sharpener has these slots for both standard (Western) and Asian sharpened knives - and a handy cover to help keep you from using the wrong type. As this implies, it is NOT limited to ZWILLING knives.

Works AMAZING...until it doesn't.
I was very excited to get this in the mail because I have a very nice J.A. Henckels 7" santoku knife that was desperately in need of sharpening. Pro's: -Instructions are on the package and very simple to understand and follow. -This sharpener took literally moments to transform a tragically dulled blade into a scary-sharp razor; I could literally shave my face with the knife. Con's: -The biggest drawback is that mine had a sizeable chip break off of the coarse sharpening stone while I was sharpening the above mentioned 7" santoku FOR THE FIRST TIME. I did not use excessive pressure while sharpening, so this was unexpected and rendered the sharpener at risk of dulling the next knife to be sharpened on it due to no longer having a consistent flat surface on the stone. It's true that nothing lasts forever and that sharpening stones do eventually wear out, but for the cost of $30+ it's not very economical to putter out so quickly. -This style of sharpener makes it challenging to get the last 1.5" (the tip) of the knife sharp because you must apply moderate pressure to create friction and sharpen the knife, so when you reach the end of the knife and the blade exits the v-shape sharpening stones, the knife suddenly comes free and due to downward pressure, it nicks the plastic portion of the sharpener. So, in order to prevent this from happening, you must cease applying pressure to the knife at the end of the blade, thus it doesn't sharpen the tip very well. I will be exchanging this in hopes that the chip that broke off the first time using this was merely due to a manufacturer defect.

Second one I've bought. Gave the first to my son.
This sharpener is flexible, in that it can sharpen both the Oriental edges and the 'traditoinal' edges. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I humbly suggest you research the subject for mroe clarity. This product has heft and is not some 'cheap' piece of junk like so many other sharpeners of this kind. You get what you pay for. And, personally, I do not rely on electronics much. Espeically after having experienced the POS that was the can opener I purchased earlier this year. See my review for details and photos. So, I highly recommend this sharpener over others specifically because of the construction and the versatility. Note the materials used to do the sharpening. Some sharpeners use a far too abrasive material that can damage your blade if you don't know what you are doing. If the blade needs only a quick honing, then you don't need an abrasive that will cutaway big chunks of the blade. Do your research properly and thoroughly, or else you will ruin your knife and waste the money you've spent on it. And, if I may, don't buy a cheap knife. Get a German steel blade. The orientals are nice and hold an edge longer, but they are also much more stiff and snap/break easily. Take care of your things. Be mindful of the money God has given you and be a good steward of the limited resources we have here on earth. Peace and Love. God Bless you this holiday season and every season of your life.

Great fundamental sharpener
Hello folks. Today I receive zwilling pull through sharpener and I put it through the test I sharpened 10-years-old Plus kitchen knives set. The reason I bought because I don't have the aptitude right now to sharpen with Whetstone but also knew that I did not want to use electrical sharpener. This sharpener is not Gordon Ramsay or Chef Emeril sharpener. The sharpener gives a good kitchen cutlery edge.

Purchased this model last year and pleased with the results. The course and fine slots sharpened my dull knives with little effort. Decided to purchase another for Christmas to give. The model I received is not the same, all black. This one does not have the protective cover over the Asian slots and the handle is lacking the finger hole. I had expected the same Red and Black unit as pictured. There should have been a notation that this model could be substituted with similar. I hope it performs like the Red and Black unit.
