Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion - Complete Season 2 [Blu-ray]

Code Geass R2: where did it go wrong.
Ah poor old R2. It had so much potential to follow on from the excellent first series to make Code Geass an absolute masterpiece but it failed miserably. While its not completely hopeless there's hiding its faults. The series begins having pushed a great big reset button in order to basically repeat the plots for the first four episodes beat for beat; Lelouch gains a geass, kills a viceroy, has to deal with school shinanegans, humiliates a prominent knight etcetera. From there though the show does improve; expanding the mythos and containing some spectacular battle sequences. Lelouch outdoes himself with his expert manoeuvring, the plan to be exiled may be the best scene in the whole show. And episode 15 is a beautifully written piece; exposing the past of the mysterious C.C. in one tragic flashback. However the character dynamics are somewhat lacking. Code Geass's greatest strength has been it's ensemble cast and whilst their interlocking stories do continue they are somewhat wasted having been shoved out of the spotlight and it always feels like we missed half of a conversation. The new characters are a mixed bag; some are intriguing like Anya and Gino some inconsistent like Xingke and Rolo is absolutely loathsome. And now we come to R2's BIGGEST problem. The last seven episodes are pure garbage. Anything remotely good was thrown out of the window in favour of half-baked plot twists, god-moding main characters fighting abilities, ridiculous levels of planning and the ruination of nearly every character's development (except for Jeremiah who was still awesome). This all culminated in an ending that many fans praised but I personally found ludicrous.I still recommend you watch this if you like the first season for the good parts are still great and you might actually like the ending. However the bad parts may leave you very frustrated; scratching your head and wondering where did it go wrong!

Great show but it give you nothing else.
This is going to be a review of the case and extra content because I assume that, if you are thinking about buying this show, you've already seen it and have decided you liked it enough to purchase the physical copy. The case holds all 25 episodes in a normal Blu-ray case. It holds the discs and has nice artwork. Can't ask for much else. This show comes with no extra features. Not even a textless opening and closing like most Blu-ray/ DVD's give you. This normally isn't a problem but I find it odd because the Blu-ray for season 1 came with almost a dozen commentaries for selected episodes as well as mini episodes that take place between the normal episodes. This just seems lacking in comparison. If you're only after the show in good quality than this is a must buy.

Utterly mind-blown
With a lot of anime out there, the storylines are predictable and the characters can be washed out and completely dull but not here! There are so many twists in this story you can't predict the outcome of anything, even the ending is unexpected. You can tell it's been well thought out as every plan Lelouch (main character) thinks up all rolls into how the ending occurs. It's a mind game as a character who could be described as Cobb from Inception plays out a war against the enemies. I won't go into any further detail in case people haven't seen series 1 but then you can't really watch series 2 without first seeing series 1.The characters are well designed (designed by Clamp so of course they're amazing! And some characters have some resemblance to other characters in the Clamp universe). The animation is top of the range and beautiful to behold along with the mecha battles.Music is stunning especially the more epic clashes between the two warring sides. If I could give this series six stars I would and it's well worth watching!!

The drama and action ramps up in the second season of this iconic series!
I bought this with the first season set for my brother's birthday and was really happy that it arrived in time. The second season of Code Geass continues from where season 1 left off, but where is Lelouch? And what happened in the final confrontation between him and his old friend, Suzaku? This DVD contains all episodes of the second season.

freaking amazing!!!
Out of the 2 seasons i prefer the first one just by a little bit but goodness is this still an amazing show and second season. The twists and turns are still there and zero aka lelouch is as dangerous as ever to the britanian empire. The ending for me is probably the best in anime history period, nothing tops this ending and if you havent watched it boy will be in for a shock suprise.

Absolutely Amazing!
Why the other review gave this 1 star for something stupid is really pathetic.Anyway, i've only watched one episode so far and it starts off with lots of drama just like the end of season 1. It can only get better and i cannot wait to watch the rest. If you liked the first season then get this straight away, i don't know how you couldn't after the cliffhanger of season 1.

Absolutely Amazing Series
I have just finished watching this anime series and it was absolutely amazing... This is one of the very few animes which can be called a masterpiece. The characters fit perfectly with the storyline and it flows along very well. If you love anime then i highly recommend buying this as it is amazing. I will definately watch this again and again as i enjoyed it so much... Definately a masterpiece indeed.

perfect
Adding one of the greatest anime of all time to my collection is rewarding, plus its the size of a normal blue ray, so it saves space, I wouldn't read anything about the anime, because the reason why its so great is its full of surprises just like death note. The storyline is just amazing...Easy 10/10
