Bearpaw Abigail Shearling Boot (Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid)

Last year, I bought the Target UGG knock-offs for my 7 year old who is tough on shoes, and it was a great purchase. She wore them essentially every day between Christmas and the start of summer break, when I physically had to put them away! So I repeated this year -- but oh, the disappointment! This year's version was made of faux leather, and the toes and buttons ripped within the week. I still don't feel right spending $$$$ on designer boots for an 8-year old, but wanted something solid. These boots fit the bill. They are more expensive, but still reasonably priced, are well made and my kid loves them. The service was outstanding. The order somehow had the wrong size, and I alerted the vendor. I also purchased the right size immediately, as it was the last pair. I had a reply that my 1st purchase will be credited back *before I even made the return*!. I had my second pair at my doorstep the next morning, in time for my kid to go to school. And the return label was a breeze to print. What could have been a major hassle turned into just a minor inconvenience. I know now what boots I'm getting next year, and where to get them!

While these boots are cute and comfy on my 5 year old, the button on the side came off completely within the first week. It happened at school, so by the time I picked up my child, she had been dragging a barely-on boot all day, so one side is now worn. There was no chance of finding the lost button (we even searched), and upon inspection, it seems as if there is only one stretchable cord lightly sewn in to hold the buttons in place (the buttons are necessary as they close the boot to keep it on the foot). Anyone making a child's product should be ensuring it's durability. There are better reviewed boots out there, but for kids who outgrow sizes within a couple months, I hoped this middle-of-the-road one would do it's job for the season. We will have to locate and sew a new button on in hopes of making them work, which completely defeats the benefits on a quick and easy Amazon purchase.

While I did not expect to get the quality of an UGG boot for half the price, I certainly expected far better quality than what I received. I wanted a better boot than the $20 boots at Target or Walmart, so I ordered the BearPaw Abagail for my granddaughter. She wore her boots for less than a week. The following is what prompted me to write this review:-The boots have an elastic/button type closer that is not firm and does not keep the front and back of the boot closed. They flop over negating any warmth or protection from the cold...and look sloppy.-The quality of the materials is poor. The fleece lining is flimsy and in a week of wear matted considerably. There was no extra padding on the sole, over all I felt the fleece lining did not provide much insulation or padding on the sole.-The structure in the heel collapsed after the week.After one week of ware (and none of it in snowy conditions), the boots looked like they were well over a year old.I hope to be able to return this product for a refund, but have no idea how do so given the boots have been worn. This is the first time, I have had a bad experience ordering on the internet.

I wear these all the time but the children's boot quality was not as good. The lining got all matted down very quickly and looked really bad. Not very warm either. Adult boot much better.

The fit was perfect. True to size. Very soft and cozy inside. Soles are thick and durable. Excellent quality and cute style!

These were purchased for my daughter, and she wears them witheverything except her pajamas! They are easy to put on and take off.We are very satisfied with these boots.

My eight year old got a size 2Y. She wears them to school and tucks in her jeans. They are very well made and have a suede outside and sheepskin inside. We have been very pleased with the purchase and think they are as good as that "other" well known brand of similar boots but much less expensive.
