It Won't Slice Whole Potatoes. Well, Sorta
Won't cut whole potatoes with the slicer blade. After one or two turns, the blades - which appear to be just fine - apparently clog up, even though they appear to be clear. You can turn and turn, but nothing happens. You have to slice the potatoes lengthwise, either in half or quarters, an unnecessary step IMO, and then place flat side to compression wall or to the front. Will slice potatoes then, but slices are curled and are tapered, not uniform. Also, lots of little pieces. Otherwise, press with the plunger - nothing happens. Back to table slicer for whole potatoes. But just slices and shreds carrots amazingly quickly. With cabbage, have to make sure no leaf is parallel to the cutter drum - otherwise the leaf conforms to the drum and you have to manually extract. Also, this thing is made backwards for right handed people. Using the right hand to turn, the table clamp - which works just fine - is on the back, not the front. Inconvenient to clamp down. In short, for certain vegetables it is just wonderful if you make the correct preliminary cuts and insert with vegetable edge to the cutter drum. But it won't do whole potatoes.

A Kitchen Staple
I liked this for threading mostly but I ended up enjoying the slicer more. I have used it for a bit so here are some PROs & CONSPROS- Affordable- Small- Colors- Easy to use and assemble- Very helpful in cutting down time- Actually works and cuts as it saysCONS- The small holes aren't so good on softer veggies and fruit this is Better on hard veggies and fruits (ex: onions)- Have to cut to put in the section cup but this isn't an issue for me. It just means you can't put an entire cucumber in it. I just cut in half then press down. Not a big deal.- If you don't put the presser in right you could break the plastic holder and there are no replacement parts just gotta buy it all over again.I purchased a more expensive one that was all medal like salad master but I like the savings of this right now and it's worth it for me. I got a chopper for the small dicing and will keep it moving.-

I don’t like electrical things, so this was a good alternative for me.
Ii have used this a few times. Each time i have nicked a finger! I was digging out cheese from the barrel and sliced my finger. Possibly specially made small spatula could eliminate this issue. Once when cleaning a barrel, same thing, nicked a finger. Once when unclogging the feed shoot i nicked 2 fingers. The feed shoot gets clogged as does the barrel. You cannot proceed without unclogging. Cheese clogs it and so do veggies. Nuts did not clog. You need to find just the right size bowl to fit under the out spout. The suction works good. Just watch your fingers. Oh and don't use a silicone spatula because the blades nick that! I am still using it, but you have to watch your fingers and unclog often

Works fine so far, but how durable will it be?
I just bought this and tried it a couple times. I intend to use it as a nut grinder, as for harder nuts like almonds. It worked fine for the almonds, but I'm not sure how durable the device will prove to be, and how much stress in grinding almonds it will take. It seems to be reasonably well constructed. The base is solid, and affixes firmly to the table or counter. But, let's face it, this isn't as rugged as the solid, heavy aluminum grinder my grandmother used to make hamburgers. Just to be sure, I would suggest holding the handle by its base (where it attaches to the grinder body) when rotating it, to help prevent it from snapping while grinding something hard. Only time will tell whether the thin grates will endure.

Great shredder for Soapmakers!!
I have no doubt that the Salad Shooter is good, but this MANUAL SHREDDER is phenomenal if you are a SOAPMAKER who is rebatching/recycling unused soap. Yes, I know, it's "manual" … but this little manual shredder takes a bar of soap and reduces it to shreds in no time flat … it takes very little effort to whirl the handle around. I was amazed. So much better than the expensive Salad Shooter which is basically obsolete now. This manual shredder is super easy to dismantle and clean (yeah!! we do so much of that already!) Generally there are only 3 pieces to clean after shredding soap.. With that said, I'm back to buy a second one because I'm too impatient to wipe dry and wait for it to completely "air" dry before shredding my next soap. The price is right enough to have two! :o)

I love this thing!
So far, I've used this for grating parmesan cheese and slicing onions. I was so amazed at how easy and well this worked. I really appreciated not having to chop up the onions. I don't enjoy cooking or meal prep so for me, this was great. I took off a star because a very small piece broke the second time I used it. It doesn't affect the operation of the grater but the plastic could be studier. I love this though. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Best kitchen appliance ever!!!
I had to prepare baked Mac-n-cheese for an event. I was able to shred 6 pounds of cheddar cheese in just minutes. I could not believe how fast and easy it was! The suction is powerful, so it held steady on my kitchen counter. I thought it was going to be tough to turn, since I had thick blocks of cheese, but the handle turned with ease. It was like the cheese was just sliding through the holes of the barrel! Unbelievable!!! For someone like me who had tendinitis in my wrists, this was perfect! Most importantly, I was able to easily break it down and throw it in the dishwasher. So clean-up was easy. Best kitchen appliance ever!!!

It does what it advertised. Great product!
I do stir fry a lot. The trick is that everything has to be cooked as quickly as possible. This tool to me is to break vegetables into pieces small enough in a short time. It turns a lot of hard to cook vegetables to something that is easily done. No cutting board hassle also means less germs and save to eat vegetables raw. I found that the size of the cabbage I shredded is perfect for salad, effortless to chew. Something that I noticed is that I need to align the vegetable with the knife appropriately to make shredding easy. Enjoyed the product several times and that I think worth the price already.
