Painful to read
The book reads more like a set of study notes. The style is stilted and awkward at best. I noticed that there was no translator mentioned, which leads me to believe it was written in English by the author. It would have greatly benefitted from a heavy-handed editor or a shadow writer.I bought it for the self-care and QiGong chapters. The massage routine looks decent, but the QiGong chapter is actually a teaser and contains no instructions at all. Also, don’t bother picking up this book if you’re unfamiliar with anatomy. Locating meridians and acupoints relies heavily on written descriptions, the relevant diagrams being inconveniently placed at the end of each chapter. This kindle edition is formatted in such a way as to make flipping back and forth near impossible. Finally, I noticed some inconsistencies and possible errors throughout the text. For instance, at one point the author describes yin energy as descending and yang energy as ascending, only to flip this description further in the book. When describing the massage techniques, he mentions that after doing a certain technique, the practitioner should keep their hand on the spot for 5-10 minutes. Surely, that can’t be right!Overall, it would have made more sense to create and sell a video of this massage technique rather than try to fill enough pages to publish a book, and making a shoddy product at that.

Great for LMT's
I wish I could take the workshop that this book is the textbook for. But since that is not a possibility, I am finding the textbook very helpful on it's own. It does require dedicated study of acupuncture points and study of techniques, but most are familiar to LMT's. I am working on incorporating this routine into a full body massage. It has to be shortened considerably to do so, but even so, it is nice to have a routine for the head and face that you know is helping the body in a significant way. I think it would be nice to do the full routine while a client is resting during a body wrap. You'd have 20 minutes then. Overall, very detailed great book for any LMT!

Simple and compact
The book is simple, because it is full of consecrated theories of traditional Chinese medicine to increase the thickness of the book. It monochrome photos but perfectly understandable, useful for experienced acupuncturists and massage therapists. Well worth the purchase.

Chinese Head Massage
This book is amazing. It really illustrates the massage well. It was a really good balance of hands on, and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Very informative.

Not Userfriendly
I bought this book in the hope of learning simple head message techniques so that I can give to my husband or friends. But it's very detailed and didn't find serving my purpose.
