Don't be like me and think that the item is junk....the center sometimes needs a helping hand to "pop" out and allow the food to be caught in the strainer. Once I figured this out, it the best item I have purchased for my kitchen!

As my late father would say, this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. My college-age daughter put us on to this idea, as her roommate has one. But this one is actually larger than the one she has, which is great because it is easier to use without spilling. The concept is this-- you clip the little clips onto the side of your pasta pot (or whatever you need to drain) and then just pour! Simple! The thing stays put and you have 2 hands to use on the pot if you need too (especially important if you aren't that strong in the arms and/or if the pot is on the larger side). We have used several of the handled metal strainers and this one beats them all, hands down. Just be sure to clean it well-- which is easy. Some people (who shall remain nameless...) don't think that plain ol pasta water needs cleaning-- but the starch will be very apparent when the thing dries if you don't clean it well. But it is small enough to be easy to clean, so no worries-- just do it!

I always have hated dragging out a strainer for noodles, this product solved that problem. It's so small and easy to store. When you dump pasta it holds to the pot well and nothing falls out. Will be buying another

I was so happy to discover this nifty tool! It fits in a kitchen drawer, and can certainly replace a full size colander, if all you use it for it draining pasta or potatoes or whatever. It clips on to almost any size pot (very small pots won’t work well) and goes from dishwasher to drawer to pot easily and quickly.One word of caution - be cautious when pouring hot liquid! I always pour away from myself and there is also a lot of steam. But this is always a caution no matter what tool you’re using. I also put the device on before the pot gets too hot…

I use this to drain grease off of meat and for pasta. It doesn’t take up much space in the dishwasher. I loved it so much I ordered one forever several family members because it is so useful.
