USEFUL GUIDE
A useful guide but having owned several Alpines and other Rootes cars sharing the same mechanics and trim items I would have to say there is quite a lot in the book that is generic and applies to all old sports cars. Maybe I know too much already but (for example) the point about sagging door shuts and structural issues linked to it applies to any roofless car.I was hoping for a bit more meat on the bones but, nevertheless, I would recommend the book if you are looking to buy an Alpine especially if you have never owned one or are a novice when it comes to cars.

Essential for every Alpinist.
You had better believe & be guided by what Mr Barker says. As one of our countries most highly qualified (ex) senior engineers & designers at Westland Helicopters, owner of the same Sunbeam Alpine for 40 years or more, president of the UK Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club & valued advisor on all things Alpine there is little if anything that he does not know about the Sunbeam Alpine. With no axe to grind (he is NOT the owner of a company restoring or selling Alpine parts) if you are planning to buy an Alpine or already own one you would be mad not to have this book in your possession.

Alpine Ownership
My personal experience with Alpines began in the spring of 1975 with the purchase of a '67 Series V. I enjoyed the car very much and drove it for several years while in college. Recently I went looking for another one. I found this book very useful and informative. It provides a lot of sound advice relating to the purchase and ownership of one of these badly underrated cars. I never saw them that way, and it's gratifying to find my interest shared. This book is a very worthwhile purchase for anyone giving serious thought to owning and driving an Alpine today.Highly recommended.

Good Strarter Guide or Great Restoration Checklist
This book has lot of information - don't let the small size fool you. Attending to noted points will help minimize buyer's removal remorse both by empowering the buyer with what know and look for show the seller that you are an informed person. I am using it to make my current 67 Alpine restoration covers everything that is needed at a high level of quality and accuracy. A recommended reading!

An excellent and highly informative source for anyone considering an Alpine ...
An excellent and highly informative source for anyone considering an Alpine purchase and for those who already own the iconic little car. The volume is well organised and written in plain and understandable language. I recommend this book for anyone interested in the Sunbeam Alpine.

Some useful info, but not as meaty as I'd hoped
Some useful model-specific info in here, but also quite a lot of generic "how to buy an old British car" type of info that applies to any car. There are bits of Sunbeam-specific info scattered throughout, but overall not as meaty as I'd hoped.
