I thought long and hard about paying almost £30 for a kitchen scale. However, I live in a studio apartment and therefore are always searching for ways to save space. Basic (cheap) kitchen scales can be a bit bulky so, having previous experience with Joseph Joseph quality and functionality, I decided to go for it. I did not regret it. The scale takes less space than my Samsung Galaxy smart phone and is cool-looking to boot. The scale is so easy to use although it never hurts to browse through the manual. The touch screen is very sensitive so the slightest touch is enough. Finally, the accuracy, which should be the most important thing, seems excellent. Overall, I recommend the Tri Scale -- even for larger kitchens as saving space never hurts.

I bought this scale after a friend of mine recommended it to me for weighing your food (for people who measure their food daily). It folds down and takes up hardly any space and can be kept in a drawer when not in use. To use it you just unfold the pieces out and then turn it on, place your plate in the middle and then begin to weigh your food or whatever it is you are weighing. It is great for weighing in oz but there are the other options of measuring available. It is accurate, compact, modern looking and perfect for anyone who takes a scale with them to weigh their food. It could also be used as a postal scale too.

Best option for a space saving kitchen because you can store it in a small drawer. I used it daily for meal prepping and portion control and it lasted 4 years. I had to change the batteries around once per year. It is a little bit uncomfortable to read when the containers are too big. It was not as precise when weighting small quantities but it did the job. I hoped that for the price and the care I put when using it was going to last longer. For that reason I am not buying again.

I love these scales; they are easy to store and to pack for self-catered holidays. However, they aren't great at precison low weights (0g will flip to 10g plus; sometimes it 20g plus before anything registers) and they fail. This was our third set. The tell tale signs that they are going to fail are a lack of accuracy at low weight and inconsistent weighing/the weighed weight varying whilst nothing is being added.The first set of scales failing I could forgive.... I put a hot pan on them.... they fought bravely on for several months. The second set did a couple of years. If honest, they were never trustworthy, and I often weighed things twice, especially as they got older, and my "eye" didn't believe the weight. The second set failed whilst on holiday in 2020; the weight wouldn't settle and varied wildly. This last set has lasted 4 years, but munched through batteries and never been entirely trustworthy for small weights ( I learned the measure yeast by sight). This evening they errored, apparently due to a shock that impacted the calibration... they were not subject to any shock today (or anything out of ordinary used at all).In short: great design, such promise, but a fail on accuracy and durability. Based on our experience, I can't recommend, especially at the price point.

I absolutely love this scale! The design in awesome - it folds away into almost nothing while protecting the display. Ingenious, practical and great looking. I use it all the time - right from measuring out cereal (just because I can!) to all my baking measurements. Saw it at my best friends place and coveted it. It's beautiful, functional, easy to use and like I said, even easier to put away. Love it, love it, love it! Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Totally!!
