Powerful and easy to install
I bought this laser to upgrade my Nasum A5 Pro, whose puny 5W laser required two passes to cut 3mm basswood. The box contains the laser unit itself, a sliding mounting plate in two parts (one attaches to the carriage, the other to the laser head, a few screws with matching hex wrenches, a power adapter board with cable, a few acrylic focus spacers, and a replacement lens.Attaching the mounting plate to the Nasum carriage would not have been possible without reusing two screws from the previous mounting plate; as it is I could have used two more. I would have appreciated finding the corresponding screws in the box. Two thumbscrews secure the laser plate to the carriage holder and allow for easy focus adjustment, this is very handy. There are two versions of the laser head on this page, 12V and 24V. They look identical, apparently the 24V version see a lot of returns, probably because most controllers on inexpensive engraving tables feed 12V to the laser head. The included voltage adapter can be used to convert 12V into 24 or vice versa if needed, of course at the expense of another board and more wires -- so make sure you check the voltage and pinout on your controller before ordering. The Nasum A5 Pro uses the same connector and 12V, so it was an easy replacement and I don't need to use the adapter board (I could have done with a cheaper version WITHOUT the board, and maybe with a couple more screws instead!)The hose of my air assist pump connected easily to to the brass nozzle and it works great. Finally, the optical protection attaches magnetically to the bottom of the unit. Overall, install took roughly 15 minutes, easy peasy.I ran a few tests and it essentially cuts twice as fast as the original 5W laser: card stock cuts at 2000mm/minute at 50% (instead of 1000mm/m at 50% with the 5W) and the edges are perfect; basswood cuts in a single pass at 200mm/m at 100% instead of requiring two passes at the same speed with the 5W. So, a very worthy upgrade I'm very pleased with.

Great little laser but still not for cutting
This little guy has plenty of power for engraving on things like paper and solid color woods but really struggles with bCommon bamboo cutting boards. This isn't the fault of the laser quality as the unit is nice and solid feeling and the bolt pattern makes it easy to install. It just is what it is and limited by being a diode laser. Even with air assistant cutting solid cardstock is painstakingly slow and not worth doing.

Good replacement for Atomstack M50 10w
Worked right off the bat after mounting. My laser is a 12v 3pin. Worked perfectly. I'll even say that this laser is a lot better than the Atomstack M50-10w I bought for almost a $100 more. This laser cut through 3mm basswood at 90% power and 750mm/m. 2 passes...The M50 was 100% power and 500mm/m, 3 passes. The fixed focus on this is a little longer than the old head meaning the laser is above the work piece more.. I like that.Hoping with the lesser power it will last longer than the M50 did.

i was weary for the price
but this thing packs a punch. my old glass engravings would take sometimes 4-6 hours. i now do them in 2.5 hours. it improved the time that much. i went from running at 2000mm to 6500mm that much improvement and quality is amazing.

Misleading name "LASER TREE 40W Laser Module"
Don't be fooled by the misleading name of this laser. The company seemingly wants to fool people into thinking this is a 40w laser when in reality it's only a 5w laser. It seems to work well although it is still a bit weak for my needs. I need to step up to a 20w or a 40w laser for my next one. Still this engraves well enough after some trial and error to figure out the right speed and power settings. For cutting a 3mm ply board you need quite a few passes to finally cut through. Personally I think I'd recommend a higher powered laser.
