I recently bought the kit and asked Steve, my handyman friend, to put it together. He spent 3 1/2 hours last Sunday afternoon assembling the door and then hanging it. When I told him this was advertised as a 30-minute job he said, well, the door itself probably took that long, but installing it on the wall was what took so much time. He had no criticism of the door itself. He had a couple comments on the hardware. There was a floor guide but he didn't recommend using it on our tile floor. He recommended getting a U-shaped guide that would be attached to the wall instead. We got one here at Amazon that fit perfectly, it's a SMARTSMITH Simple Design Wall Mounted Sliding Barn Door Bottom Floor Guide with Adjustable Bracket, seems made for this door. He also had difficulty hanging the track because we didn't happen to have the sturdiest wall. I can't recall if the hardware included anchors or whether he had provided them himself, but within a day or two, one side of the door was dropping, not by much, but enough for the door to want to slide closed instead of staying open. He went and got some really heavy-duty looking anchors at a hardware store and re-hung the door today. It looks terrific now, but I'm sure he found installing the door more frustrating than he would have liked.You'd have to be a fairly proficient do-it-yourselfer to hang this door on your own. I'm just glad I could call on Steve the Handyman.

We bought 2 of these doors, not realizing they required assembly. So we hired a professional to assemble and hang them. Although instructions claimed a 30-minute assembly time, it took the professional more than 2 hours per door just to put them together, because he had to sand every joint to make them fit. It then took him another day to hang them. On top of that, each piece had a little sticker that was impossible to remove without leaving a sticky residue, and the grey finish on the door is thin and easily scratched. They look nice, but I definitely would not buy them again.

This was so easy to setup. It took my husband and I about 30 minutes. It only took that long because we didn't have our tools in one spot lol. 20 minutes tops. No joke. Everything is labeled, cut and notched really well. The quality is great. Highly recommend buying this.

The assembly instructions were easy to understand. The wood was very good quality. Very pleased with whole process from ordering to fast delivery. Hats off to Amazon and the Manufacturer

The door kit was extremely well packaged for shipping. I love mill work and everything went together perfectly. The instructions were a little vague but the illustrations were spot on. I’m more of an illustration guy so if you ever put together and IKEA product than this would be a walk in the park. Definitely recommend this anyone who wants a good quality product!
