Phil Jones Bass Session 77 100-watt 2 x 7-inch Bass Combo

It's awesome!
I had grown disenchanted with my previous amplifier; it would have been great if I played an old school Precision bass and tried to sound like Jamerson. The problem is that I am a Jazz player and I gravitate to John Entwhistle. I was looking for an amp that amplified the unplugged tone of my basses without adding wool with an emphasis to clarity and articulation; the Session 77 fits my requirements to a tee. Its sound is high fidelity and aggressive. The lows ring, the highs are crystal clear and the midrange is snappy. At 100 watts it is perfectly suited for small venues. The only down check that I can think of is that it lacks a DI output and is quite heavy for its size; not a major issue as most off board pre-amps include a DI output. A really nice feature is that it is capable of supporting a powered cab for those of you that may wish to add a bit more punch at higher volumes. It is quite small, and I am really impressed with the sound of the seven inch woofers; you can easily put it the backseat of a compact car. I am very happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that has tonal requirements similar to mine.
