HEXBUGVEX Zip Flyer, Blue, Black

Purchased for my 8-year-old's birthday and he had a lot of fun putting this together and playing with it. He needed just a little help to get some of the pieces together.

Our 7 year old grandson who is a whiz at assembling things that have clear instructions got this put together in a little over an hour with a few pointers from us. The instructions have no words, just diagrams which are clear once you figure out how to follow them. There were even extra pieces which was great since his little figures sometimes dropped them. The box does say it can be assembled two ways but there were no directions for the second way. Warning: once assembled, go directly to a playground or baseball field. Even with only 7-year-old strength (and an adult holding firm to the main assembly like an anchor), the launches were spectacularly high and if it's not aimed straight up, the spinners could easily end up on a roof. So kudos on a product that does what it says and includes a few extra pieces for fumble fingers.

11yr old built this himself with no issues and made his younger brother very jealous. His younger brother (7) built another meccan ball-launcher which required parental help and took hours longer. This is a very rugged launcher system and fun inside (with light pulls) or outside.

I put this together with my 8 year old and 6 year old girls yesterday and they had a great time. My 8 year old was basically able to do the whole thing herself, with only a couple spot checks from me. My 6 year old had some trouble snapping the smaller pieces in. But they were both fascinated by how the gears fit together and have been happily shooting those flyer discs around our house (while cackling in glee) since we completed the set.

Great beginner set for my ten year old girl. Step by step instructions force you to pay attention to detail.

My grandson enjoyed building it and then we all had a great time launching it. Had to go to a large area ( a church parking lot) as it flew so high! One kid launched, the other ran and tried to catch it before it landed!Materials are great.

My son got this as a birthday gift for his 8th bday. He loves legos and this was slightly more challenging for him since the directions are different from legos. He still completed it without help. We now gift this to his friends as it is an age appropriate gift and budget friendly!

There is a structural problem on step 20. The pieces do not line up with the holes when placed in the position demonstrated in the manual. My 10 year old is very frustrated. He came to me for help and indeed he has followed the manual properly yet there is a problem at step 20.If anyone has encountered this problem please let me know. We looked for online assembly tutorials but have been have not found. Sadly this item will have to be returned if we cannot find some assistance. Perhaps it is a defective unit.

Bought this for an 8 year old, and would have been too difficult to build on her own. Didn't mind as I wanted to build it together. The instructions make sense, and we got a few pieces wrong, but managed to remove and correct them.After building it was fantastic watching the spinners fly up in the air, can be used in doors as the spinner goes straight up and runs along the ceiling. Outside we managed to get them up to about 30 feet, much taller than the house ! All in all great fun, and has a few weeks more fun left in it.

Cool and simple toy. Quality is good

7歳のプラモデル付きの男子が、一人で黙々と組み立てていました。図が大きくて見やすいようで、英語はわからなくとも想像しながら作業してました。１時間くらいで完成しましたが、部品が少々余ってます。しかし、飛ばすことは問題なく、結構な高さを飛ばすことができました。屋内だと天井に当たるため、屋外で飛ばしたら気持ちいいと思います。あとで説明書を見て、大人のほうが根負けしそうな内容とページ数に驚きました。普段は落ち着きない子ですが、よほど夢中になったようです。他のシリーズもやってみたいです。
