Animated adventure from popular director Tim Burton. Set in a 19th century European village, the film follows the story of Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colourful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. Review: Amazing film - Came very quickly and looks amazing great film Review: a stunning Blu Ray release of a great film - I'm well aware of the love this film has recieved both critically and from the public. for a full review I'd suggest looking elsewhere, As I'd like to take the time to highlight another aspect of this, besides the amazing sets, great dialogue, fantastic songs and altogether wonderful plot and delivery. And that, is the fact that this blu ray features possibly the best transfer of a film I've seen outside of Pixar's work. I simply cannot accurately communicate the amount of detail present in this film and just how crystal clear the image is, with the skeleton jazz sequence in particular looking almost as if it were actually unfolding in front of me and all the environments and sets appeared so tactile and crisp as to be almost like looking through a window. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't find a single solitary moment where compression became apparent. not a single artefact throughout the entire film. it's just that good. So yes, this is a great film, but it is also one that all blu ray fans should own, if not for the fantastic movie itself, but for the exemplary presentation.

blu -ray bride
there is nothing wrong with the dvd version. i just love this film, and when a cheap second hand copy came up on blu ray i brought it. still not completely sold on the new format and some of the re-releases in hd , but corpse bride is just a little bit better. all the surfaces have texture, be they stone, wood or fabric.but it does now show up any depth of field problems in some of the scenes.the sound again is the real winner.again the dvd version is great ,but through the surround sound system there is more "depth" and more bass. not worth full price, but if you like this movie get a cheap copy and try it

Family favourite!
A must for any Tim Burton fan! This film had a beautiful romantic storyline that could only be twisted in such a way by Burton! Visually amazing to watch, and a real feel good fave in our house! This film is complimented by the nightmare before Christmas / frankenweenie/ Alice through the looking glass

I’m not sure
Can’t make my mind up on this one. I enjoyed ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ but ‘Corpse Bride’ I found kinda boring. After watching The Nightmare I could watch it again, but this one I can’t say I’d like to watch again. I guess everyone has their own opinions on films, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Don’t let my review put you off as everyone is different. Good Luck!
