Beautiful chess board. I'm very happy with the purchase. Excellent value for money.

Very happy with this chessboard! I would recommend measuring before purchasing as it is quite large! (which is what I was looking for). The pieces aren't weighted but are a decent size that compliment the board. The inside has this green moulded plastic that is a bit flimsy, but does its job of keeping the pieces in place. (i'll be replacing with it with foam for a more snug fit) For the Price I can't really fault it as it's a bargain. Whether you're a first time player or seasoned player I strongly recommend this product.

Nice looking chess set but not of the highest quality. Very large and nice to play with.

The quality is not great. Bit disappointed by the weight of the pieces.

At this price for a set of this size it is good value for money. A little rustic to be sure, especially the Knights, but it does say hand made so that is to be expected. And the set I received did have a red lining, not that I'm bothered what colour the it is.

Sadly, despite high expectations this proved a huge disappointment.I already own a similar, slightly smaller set (and numerous other sets) but I wanted one that was 21" instead of the relatively small, 16" standard size. This fitted the bill for measurements but the reality proved to be a poorly finished, scrappily made product.The board is hinged to make a box for the chess pieces and, when opened, the board is laid flat on a table, which means the hinges face downwards. This was the first problem: the hinges were slightly too long for the rebate slots (or the slots weren't long enough) but instead of the slots having been extended, the hinges had simply been screwed in tight, distorting them so the edges of the hinges - which didn't recess into the rebate - protruded, leaving four sharp bits of metal which dug into the table whenever the chess board was moved.The playing surface of the board was fine but then we come to the pieces. Now, the set is described thus: "Characterized by high quality workmanship, the whole set is painted, varnished, decorated and finished by hand!" but the workmanship was as far from high quality as it's possible to get.The white pieces were virtually raw, unvarnished wood; they were rough to the touch and splinters even seemed a possibility. The Black pieces had at least been coated with something black and this had made their surface smoother, but the coating was uneven, with blobs and runs on the pieces.This wasn't all, however; although the pieces had had felt applied to the bases, the felt was so thin it had almost no effect and in two cases, the finish on the base was so poor there was actually a protrusion, which caused the pieces to wobble after being moved.To complete the scenario the finish on some pieces was lamentable; one rook was cracked and damaged and a king was poorly set. Add all this to the lack of weighting in the pieces and you have a set which isn't playable and certainly not decorative.Previous sets by the same company - albeit some years ago - were infinitely superior but this was a very, very poor product.

Je recherchais un grand échiquier, beau et de bonne facture. Si dans l'ensemble ce plateau réponds à mes critères, j'ai été plus que déçu de voir les inscriptions lettres et chiffre pas du tout dans le bon ordre par rapport au plateau. Quelque soit le sens que l'on puisse le tourner, les chiffres et lettres ne sont pas écrites dans le sens de pose des pions, c'est dommage.Sinon question rapport qualité/prix c'est assez correct, en plus on peut ranger les pièces dedans.

Grande taille, facile à transporter et correspond à mes attentes... les pieces sont egalement biens... bon amousement...

La scacchiera è completamente fatta a mano in legno, è molto grande, gli scacchi sono enormi, è bellissimo giocare con loro. E' talmente bella che potrebbe fungere anche da oggetto d'arredamento. Davvero un ottimo acquisto, ottima idea per un regalo.
