Free Standing Cupboard Reversible Door, 1 Draw 3 Shelf Sideboard Storage Unit | Palermo (Oak)

First identify all the components and fasteners in the package: the wide variety of screws could be confusing to an inexperienced D I Y- er. We sorted them into trays with their part numbers written on labels and this helped tremendously during assembly of the cupboards: it was useful that some of the screws are of different colours and the quantity of each is noted in the parts list.Once we found that the various panels had their part numbers marked on their edges we were able to proceed with confidence but there is no mention of this in the instruction sheets.Despite the packaging being a masterclass of design there was some minor damage to a few of the cupboard sections: this being in the form of bits of the surface laminate being chipped at corners in a few places and one component, the under-drawer support very badly damaged but, it being largely unseen on the assembled item, we used it and carried on: it had no real effect on the function of the cupboard.When assembled, the cupboard is a nice piece of furniture and looks quite good in its light oak finish but it needs a really flat and level floor to keep everything square as it has little of its own strength in that respect and tends to show misalignment of the doors if there are any irregularities of the floor. (We have an old flagstone kitchen floor and needed to use shims of various thickness to level up the feet!)The drawers could open a little further, we feel, and to this end we positioned the drawer-stops 30mm further back by drilling 5mm holes to accommodate the stops at the same level as the original holes.We are generally pleased with these cupboards and they are in service mounted back-to-back as a peninsular unit in our kitchen.

I find it hard to believe the other two reviewers have the same piece of kit.Yes all of the contents were included however one piece side piece two dowel holes and two screw holes missing. I find it poor that an item which I would have thought was jigged should have some essential holes missing. I was able to drill the required holes by using the opposite side piece as a guide and we were able to complete the build.The kit Instructions are OK, and quality of material is about what you could expect for the price paid. The board the item is made of is quite thin, but again for the price!Once constructed the cupboard seems sturdy so for teh price we are satisfied. Shame about the quality control.

This took me a good few hours to build but I was on my own. What I have now is a solid, attractive piece of furniture that looks as if I paid twice as much as its actual price. The draw slides perfectly. The doors close with a satisfying click. I get extra pleasure from knowing I assembled it myself. The instructions were easy to follow, although patience was required at times! If I could suggest an improvement, it would have been really helpful if the pieces had been numbered. I had to do quite a bit of working out. Having said that, it was good for the brain and I am absolutely delighted with the result. It made me want to go out and buy another piece of flat pack furniture! They’ve always scared me, so that’s quite a tribute to this product. Completely recommended.

Easy to assemble, secret of getting doors to fit with an even gap all round is to fully assemble, then as there is a slight movement in the assembled cupboard, put temporary packing in door gaps to hold even, or pack up under feet. In the 'even gaps' position apply PVA glue all around the back of cupboard. leave overnight to dry. The glued in rear panel will hold the position held by the temporary packing.

Stores alot, perfect for small kitchens or bathrooms

Not worth the money. Cheap and not very sturdy. Ok as a temporary unit until buying something better. Fittings and handles are coloured plastic, white round stickers are provided to cover screws which look awful. You get what you pay for !

Numbering not clear on some of the parts. Handles plastic not metal but overall a good looking cabinet.
