If it wasn't for needing a cheap test that would arrive next day to check acidity of something, I would not have chosen this item.There are other sellers also using prime who will provide 2 of exactly the same item for less than this single item listing.The test strips themselves are not very accurate but if you just need to determine if something is acidic, neutral or alkaline, then these will do the job.The colour change is instant and very noticeable when presenting with an acid.For neutral conditions it's not so easy to read. The colour of the paper differs to neutral but the change is quite hard to read between ph5 and 8.I found that once wet, the strips can actually be placed directly over the colour chart for comparison due to them becoming slightly translucent.To do it this way, take your test strip once dampened with your solution and place it directly over the colours. If you the colour beneath becomes almost invisible and merges with the colour of the strip then you've found your ph. If the colour underneath is clearly visible (contrasts) against the strip then you know it is not at that given pH value.There are far better options on the market, such as digital pH testers (make sure to have calibration solution) and also liquid drop testing kits that provide a much more visible and easier to read colour change.In fact, the solutions for measuring pH in a little test tube can be found online for exactly the same price as this little book (between £3&£4).If you are in no rush for your pH test then look elsewhere.If you need an accurate pH test, definitely look elsewhere.If you need to use paper based strips and are need to measure a smaller range then look for test strips that measure only between pH 6-8 for example with increments of 0.2 or 0.5 etc.

I wanted to know the PH of the water I was testing. I still don't know. These are only useful if you want to know if something is acid or akaline, don't expect an indication of actual PH level unless you are testing to the far ends 1 or 14

Not much to save it's a small book of litmus tabs with a colour chart. It's cheap an cheerful but that's all I'm after it's just litmus paper after all.
