This is one fantastic ice maker! This was purchased on a recommendation from a friend. It stores a ton of water, makes a ton of ice, the ice is soft and chewable, and it does it fast! It's a little louder when you first turn it on but once the ice starts coming out it's very very quiet. I love the smart feature because I can have ice ready for when we wake up in the morning to fill our cups. You can set schedules to make ice you can use an app to make ice it's got a cool LED light to light it up. There's nothing that I dislike about this ice maker. We've gone through four ice makers that broke in the past year. This one has been fabulous!

PIECE OF and they know it.Unbelievable that in 2025 a company the size of GE is putting out a product with such continued problems. Do not go into cleaning mode unless you’re ready to spend hours troubleshooting it yourself. It makes great ice until it glitches. Yes, I tried the 15+ suggestions on YouTube and FB and AI. There is NO reset (I tried what was recommended). It will make ice WITH the cleaning indicator flashing (make it make sense). No, the app isn’t any help - tried that as well.We sent back the previous version of this ice maker the day before the warranty was up (364 days). The second unit lasted 1-2 years, and then we had to throw it away because of the myriad of problems. We bought the 2.0 during Prime Days. So sad. Yes, we had to learn all of the tricks the first time around. Obviously, some people are able to make it work, which is great for them. It produces great ice WHEN IT WORKS.No, it’s not OE (operator error). I wish!! I’ve got two engineering degrees and have fixed dozens of devices and appliances for decades. It literally seems to be too “sensitive.”We got a Frigidaire unit and it is FLAWLESS. Gave it to our daughter and now we’re about to purchase one ourselves.Unless you’re a mechanical engineer and have serviced ice makers for a living, I highly recommend you pass on this.

Not gonna sugar coat it, the price point is definitely the biggest hurdle for the Ice Maker. However this is the highest quality one i've found on Amazon. I have tried a $250 dollar no name brand, and not only was it just slower overall, the quality of the ice didn't compare to this GE brand one.Setup is extremely simple. Just follow the instruction manual for preparing it for first use, and then go to town making enough ice to host parties, birthdays, anything really.The size of the Ice Maker is a bit bulkier than I would prefer, but it still fits on my countertop just fine. The nice thing is that even with the side tank option, I have not found it to be necessary; the base water tank underneath the ice tray has plenty of room. I had a party with 6 guests over and just using the main water tank I had plenty of ice for the evening. another feature that makes this machine so worth it is how FAST it makes the ice. I haven't personally timed it but I started the machine, did a couple of chores around my home (couldnt have been more than 30 minutes), and came back to it pumping out perfect little ice nuggets.A must have for anyone that wants to impress their guests, or loves to host social gatherings.

OMG I have been wanting a “good ice” machine since forever!! This is it! Just like sonic and hospital ice lol. It is very heavy so be aware when you need to clean it. It makes the perfect amount if ice and keeps making it as you use it. It is so easy and it functions well except it will flash that it needs to be cleaned and then it will stay on sometimes but doesn’t effect its use. It is large so make sure you have soace on your counter

Purchased 03/24 and writing review in 05/25.Pros: Makes ice fast; Perfect-sized nuggets; Extra water tank is essential when you have friends over; Easy to clean and maintain, which is essential for proper operationCons: Can get noisey; Requires cleaning just about every 21-25 days, regardless of water type (tap, filtered, distilled); Does impact you electricity bill (but totally worth it).Overall: 5 stars...one of the best kitchen gadget purchases we have ever made. We have experimented with different water types to determine impact to overall operation, length of time between cleanings, and flavor of ice...all negligible. We just use tap water now, and gave up on the hassle of distilled water delivery. Pro tip - when it says to clean it, do it and don't wait. 4 cycles (1 with bleach, 3 without) takes an hour and keeps this thing purring along.
