Rubbish
Save your money for something that actually works. How hard is it to make a square? Apparently for Rolson very hard! It would help if the piece that locks the ruler in place wasn’t made of chocolate. It is too narrow for the groove, which allows the ruler to wobble several degrees around the 90 degree. Making it useless as a square. Any attempt to tighten it deforms it, or pulls it out of the groove. Total junk. Avoid.

not 100% square but has become one of my most used helpers
Amateur diy'r here.Been making a whole load of custom furniture for the home. Self taught mostly with old knowledge from dad & the family, mostly working with hand tools in those years.Really needed a square without breaking the bank as i'm not doing any of this professionally so after a good bit of searching i went for this. (was between this or the bahco, which has a good rep but many reviews seemed to suggest that the currently produced units quality is not as it should be.)Anyways to get back to this Rolson here. On first use itself one can see that it is off by a wee degree or so (not drastically off), haven't accurately measured but that's enough to kill the basic use of a 90deg square. Now, in all fairness, i think it would be very very difficult to make a 100% accurate "adjustable" square with low cost materials. So, using that to justify, for the price this was good value. Now, i've ended up using it loads as my general ruler scale, cutting guide line, measurements, rough straightness testing of timber and other pieces. It's proved very useful here. I do wish it was 100% square though, would save me so much time in the projects :) It's quite thick (about 2mm?) & therefore as a ruler scale its firm, does not bend, has the unit markings starting from the very ends which is good.Overall, happy i bought it even if its not being used for the purpose it was intended. I'll probably invest in a fixed square of have someone build me one in time.

Build quality ?
Build quality not so good, rough finish ,needs sanding, you get what you pay for. I've reorder a more expensive tool.

It's ok
It does the job, not the most refined tool but that's reflected in the price. It's worth the money though

makes measuring angles easier
Before buying this Set Square, I was struggling with holding the wood, ruler and cutting the correct angles. This has made my life much easier! Sturdy tool and good value for money.

The tool I never knew I needed
I am strictly DIY, not professional. I have had a fixed Square for decades, but it is marked with rust and illegible in places. While watching YouTube, I found a tutorial on how useful a combination square is. As I am fitting cupboards (Ikea, cut to fit around downpipes etc), I thought I would buy a new square. All I can say is, the tutorial was spot on. I have used it an incredible amount, and being able to set a length means I can easily glide the square along an edge and mark a perfectly straight line....fabulous...

Solid, square, straight and accurate.
This is a good, solid combination square. Mine is accurately square, the edges are straight, the measuring scale is accurate and starts exactly from one end, it locks nicely and slides easily when not locked. My only two complaints: 1. Once you take the rule out, I find it fiddly to put back in. 2. While the measuring scale starts exactly from one end, it starts a little back from the other (by 1/2 mm or so), so to get it perfect I would need to file the rule a little shorter. I haven't done this yet, so I've marked which is the accurate end and just use that.
