Fallkniven Sport DC4, Small

Used daily for many months now and so far non of the issues that I have read about. A quick clean once a week keeps it in good order and after many months of used the diamond side is now where I like it. I used it on an older knife to begin with just to reduce the roughness at first. Handy, good quality and can use the pouch for a very light strop.

I use this on Opinel and Swiss Army knives. and it works very well. Pros: very effective and easy to get a razor edge (I’ve had trouble before using a softer water stone) Doesn’t need water. Portable, fits in a pocket. Diamond side cuts quickly, stone side is sharp and hard gets @ good edge. Case is leather and can be used as a sort of strop. Cons: it’s small so might be difficult to use for larger knives? (But ok for my purposes).

I bought this on strength of the reviews it has received. It comes with a nice leather pouch which is about 5"x2" (LxW). The Sharpening Stone is about 4"x1.25" (LxW). So it's fantastic little tool that takes up no space in my bag and lets me keep my knife sharp when out camping, etc. I have a proper whetstone when a home. It's about 25 microns which is about 800 grit, I believe. And then obviously the other side for giving your knife a sharper finish. Really happy with this little pocket tool.

This dry whetstone works well. The rough golden side (diamond coated) helps restore dull blades, and the smoother grey side (ceramic compound) helps get a sharp finish. The back side of the leather pouch exposes the fluffy grain, which can be used to wipe off a sharpened blade. Brilliant.

I've used loads of sharpening stones in the past. I'm an avid whetstone user for almost any and everything. I wanted something to keep with my hatchet, but decided to try this little thing with my knives. I couldn't believe what I've been missing with diamond and ceramic. The edges I was able to get in a short amount of time was insane. Add some stropping compound to the outside of the sheath and now you can do everything you need with your edge. Don't think ,click Buy Now! The coarse side does feel rougher in the beginning, but after a few uses, it smooths out. That doesn't affect it's cut though. I've managed to sharpen my 27cm knives, hatchet, and pocket knives without any issues at all. I did find that using a bit of water or oil helps give a slightly better result. Great value for the price and worth buying a backup.

Great sharpener, can use diamond coated side to roughly remove large amounts of material or ceramic side to give a razor sharp hone. This item does take skill to use so practice is required to master the art of using the stone, but once you know how it is an excellent piece of kit to have with you in the field. It's size is just right for packing in a bag pocket and it also comes with a quality leather sheath for the stone to sit in. A quality product.

Puts a lovely edge on my knives, probably not as good as Japanese water stones or Arkansas oil stones would, but given the price difference I wasn't expecting it to. Despite my slight worries when purchasing the size is a good compromise between portability and practicality. However the two sides are completely seperate and held together with the weakest of adhesives, they fell apart within days with no misuse on my part. They are easy to glue back togther so its a question of quality control rather than a serious flaw in the design. The leather pouch is also a nice touch

Was not sure about this after reading the reviews but have to say, if used properly you can put an edge on your knife that would scare a goldfish into filleting itself before you even got your knife out your pocket. It does take a wee bit of time and patience but I find it an excellent piece of equipment. It is smaller than I thought it would be but this I like as its fits nicely in the hand, and as some of the other reviews say it does look like the two sides will come apart at some point but I do not think this will alter the effectiveness of this sharpener. Wish I had found one years ago instead of struggling with the old oil stone I have been using since my school days.

Vraiment très pratique, efficace et travail propre assuré même si cela ne remplace pas (toujours) une bonne vieille pierre des Pyrénées. Tout juste en taille mais fait le travail si l'on s'y prend bien. Pochette en cuir fournie avec au top. Je recommande.
