A nice controller with a neat combination
The controller works great for my purposes, which is playing on the GameCube and PC with an interesting combination of PlayStation positioned joysticks with a GameCube style button layout. It worked without issue with my GameCube from my couch. The buttons and joysticks feel nice. However, the B button and right joystick are a bit close together for my fat thumbs. The controller does not feel cheap, though not as heft as my NYXI Warrior. I o recommend! If I could give it a 4.5/5 I would, but, I figured I would round up since it is a good controller.

Not a Wavebird, but a great modern controller.
Very good modern Gamecube controller. The original Gamecube Wavebird wireless controller was the best. If you can get your hands on one of those, do so. However when that is not possible the RetroFighters controller is a great modern take on a wireless GameCube controller. First: the feeling in-hand is very good. This controller has heft. It doesn’t feel like the 3rd party controllers of yesteryear that felt light and flimsy. The joysticks have the right amount of resistance but no drift. The buttons click without ambiguity. Second: the gameplay is good, but there is a learning curve. The analog sticks of the original first party controllers from Nintendo built a muscle memory you will have to unlearn. By comparison these sticks are more sensitive and you will likely not be able to adjust settings to make them feel more period correct. For those who didn’t grow up with the GameCube this will not apply. Playing Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader I found myself overcorrecting analog inputs and having to slowdown and re-learn a game I’ve known for 20 years. Again, nothing short of an original Wavebird will give you the right “feeling,” so I commend this effort by Retro Fighters. Ease of use: for the GameCube or Wii it is plug-and-play. Simple enough a toddler could do it. 4/5 stars. It’s not a Wavebird but it is a very high quality modern controller.

A great Gamecube controller
While I haven't always had good experiences buying controllers on Amazon, this is impressive. It's very comfortable to hold, and every button had a great, solid feel to it. The d pad is excellent as well, and the battery life to. I would put it on par with a original Nintendo controller, just more modernized. If you have a Gamecube, Wii, or a Switch. Then I highly recommend this controller from retro fighters, you can't go wrong.

Its pretty good
(Im using this on PC) Its pretty good, its responsive, its comfortable to hold, its not to terribly large if you have small hands. I did have to knock off a star because I had to give it a Firmware update as soon as I got it. The sticks were WAAAYY off, both sticks were drifting down so hard it was as if I was holding both stick straight down. Once I went to the Retrofighters website and got the firmware update it works great. However I have never once in my life had to update a controllers firmware before it would work properly.

Works well on Gamecube, not so much on PC
Controller works perfectly on Gamecube. On PC however there were numerous issues. I was scrolling through a character select screen, and pressing right or left on the D pad quickly would sometimes lead to the selection jumping over 3 or 4 spaces. Additionally, the connection was unreliable. I noticed the game was not responding when I was using the controller then looked down and the connection lights were blinking, both on the controller and on the USB dongle. The solid light would return after a few seconds and it would register as connected again, then the same issue would happen like 20 seconds later. Basically it was impossible for me to use this item on PC which is mainly what I bought it for. I kept it because it still works without connection issues on Gamecube. Beware though, if you want to use it on PC, or anything that uses the USB dongle rather than the Gamecube controller dongle, the connection might cut out frequently.
