HydrusRobotic Pool Vacuum

I have a in-ground freeform pool with an aggregate surface and no screen/ cage. I bought this pool vac with the intention using it to supplement my regular vacuum with a hose that plugs into the suction port, which is somewhat of a pain to use (I don't like swimming with the vacuum and hose in the pool so each vacuuming session involves putting in, then taking out the vacuum and hose). This sucker just gets dropped in the water and the next day, I pull it out when I go in the pool (or can use the included hook on a pole). You can leave it in the pool as long as you want though.I am amazed at how much this vacuum picks up! It does great on leaves and grass and sand (and even surprisingly large bamboo leaves); it generally gets over 98% of the debris in the pool with each session. It doesn't climb walls, but I don't need that. I find that I rarely use my much more expensive classic pool vacuum because this does such a good job. If the pool isn't really dirty then I don't even need to empty it every session. After each session, I charge it (approximately 3 hours) and then it is ready for next time. I charge it in a covered area by the pool and leave it outside when not in use. If I see the pool looks at all dirty (without a cage, debris blows in regularly) it takes just a few seconds to pick up the unit and drop it in the deep end.It scoots along fairly quickly and is propelled by water flowing out of one of two discharge ports facing opposite directions. When it hits an obstruction such as a wall, it starts discharging through the opposite port and moves in the opposite direction. Thus, no moving parts apart from the impeller that provides suction and the discharge stream. It hangs slightly on my elevated drain cover but never gets stuck. The 4 non-powered wheels are plastic but show no significant wear so far. Cleaning the device takes no longer than cleaning the filter basket on my pool pump.As others have noted, it moves around randomly and doesn't hold in very fine debris like dead algae. But it gets almost all of the debris in my pool and is so very easy to use. More expensive units may do a bit more thorough job, but this is truly a great value.Highly recommended!

Bought this almost exactly a year ago. Loved it when we first got it. Worked exactly like the reviews said. Easy to use, cleaned pool very well. We live in NY so this is a seasonal item for us. Only used it 2 months in 2023. Opened the pool end of June 2024 and only used the vacuum a few weeks before it started to die in the middle of the pool. Wouldn't hold a charge. Called the number in the manual and they tried to troubleshoot over the phone and by email. No luck. The first person we talked to said they would be sending us a new one because we were still within the warranty. Many phone calls, emails with proof of purxhase....still no resolution and no replacement vacuum which was under the one year warranty. We were told the "solutions" office is in China, so they are on different time zones. The customer service reps are located in Seattle. You can make your own decision based on the reviews, we did, and honestly mad at ourselves for buying this!!! Had the company done right by us and honored the warranty, my review would be different.

A great pool cleaner, creative, useful and helpful. It really saves my time and energy. I' ve been using it for a while, so I want to share my thoughts on it.Function: It' s easy to operate, just charge it up and press the button on the bottom. It' s even easier to use than my son' s toy car!Design: High quality and not easily dirtied. After using, just open the cover to clean the filter. Plus, the entire product is eco-friendly, with no disposable parts, and the filter can be reused.Battery life: I usually charge it in the morning for about 2 hours until it' s full, then use it in the afternoon. I don' t time it exactly, every time I play with my son about an hour, then finish dinner, my pool is already clean.

I like the look of it but when it comes to doing it’s job… NOPE! It constantly just stops and I’m always fishing it out. If I wanted to do that I would’ve just bought a handheld pool vac for WAY CHEAPER! I’ve made sure it was charged prior to using etc. I pull it out turn it off then back on and put it back in the pool. Same issue again. Also when pulling it out of the water I noticed what dirt it did get before it stops working comes RIGHT BACK OUT! Defeats the purpose. I called Amazon about the issue with it not working and they’re sending me a new one. So we will see how the other one works. Will update this as soon as I use it. **UPDATE** the new one doesn’t work as well. Came to the assumption this is made for in ground pools that are 100000000% FLAT! The bottom of my pool is pretty flat I had a professional install it. There’s some small places where the liner is crinkled a little and I guess it gets stuck on that. Idk I’m returning it. Not worth it to me. As far as Amazon customer service they done what they could. So please with that, pleased with the look, just not happy with the performance.
