Superb Pencils in the top 3 available to buy world wide.
Superb pencils. The graphite is a nice soft grey when transferring onto paper. As i said earlier these are superb but not my favourite this is my swiss pencil the Rolls Royce of pencils at £4.50 each they are a luxury.

Just as expected
As in the case of other Mitsubishi Uni pencils, this Hi-Uni pencil is a quality product. Without exaggerating, I have hundreds of pencils manufactured by different companies, and I noticed that some HB pencils are closer to H, and occasionally more like 2H or B. I find Mitsubishi Uni pencils particularly reliable. (Personally, I find the appearance of Hi-Uni with this maroon colour sophisticated too.) This product is probably what you would expect from a good-quality HB pencil. (I may be biased in favour of Uni pencils as they were my mother's favourite too !)

Great pencils
Amazing pencils. By far my favourite I have used. Took a while to arrive, but they did come from Japan after all. Probably not as great as the 'legendary' Blackwing 602 pencils. However, they are twice the price and I'd rather have pencils without the eraser attachment. I'm not an artist or anything so I'm not expert in pencil gradients. I use them for writing more than anything. I really like the design too.

Excellent quality pencil
Excellent quality pencil. Harder than the Tomboo Mono100 HB and a nicer appearance compared to Uni Star pencils that I have

The Palomino Blackwing is (slightly) better IMHO. However
The Palomino Blackwing is (slightly) better IMHO. However, with the PBW you are constantly explaining yourself due to the complements/questions that come due to its looks. This is just a pencil..... Except that it isn't :)

Lovely, high quality.
Recommended, harder than and lighter than Tombows when comparing the HBs but a VERY nice high quality pencil. Will buy again.

Mitsubishi o Tombow?

Currently the best pencils on the market
Few companies make pencils quite like Mitsubishi.Their Hi-Uni exemplifies fine pencil-making craftsmanship at its finest. What makes this pencil so special is the impeccable attention to detail. Each pencil begins with materials that are hand-selected, using the best available source. The cores are softer than Western/European counterparts, finely milled so that each pencil stroke glides on paper smoothly. The cores are encased in an absolutely perfect position, dead-center, which is important because it will sharpen reliably to a fine point and reliably perform as expected. The incense-cedar casing is carefully selected utilizing tight, straight-grained and matched wood halves during the manufacture so that the finished pencil will have an excellent, symmetric grain pattern. This also prevents warping of the wood that can detract aesthetically and functionally as it will place undue stress on the graphite core, potentially causing breaks in the core or destabilizing the bonding of the core to wood casing. These are fine details that will be lost on the majority of people who use them, but it is very reassuring to know that in this day and age of mass produced garbage commodities, someone out there still takes pride in producing a beautiful, timeless tool, one that can be appreciated by the end-user who cares about these things. The pencils come in the widest assortment of grades, from 10B to 10H for the artistically inclined. They are often compared to Blackwing pencils. Unlike Blackwing, Hi-Uni are graded, whereas the Blacking come in "soft, balanced, firm, and extra-firm" graphite grades. They equal and exceed the performance of Blackwing pencils, which is a feat since the current Palomino Blackwing line of pencils are another example of fine pencil craftsmanship as well. There is no need to choose between the two, both are excellent. Finally, Blackwing pencils are tipped with the iconic eraser. After using the pencil down to a stub, it's a straightforward thing to pull the ferrule off the Blackwing and rig it onto the end of a brand new Hi-Uni, and then you have the best of both worlds! Pics included.

Great quality.
I bought these mostly for drawing and they are great. Buttery smooth on all paper. However For me I think hb is too soft. It requires a lot of sharpening to keep a finer point. Which kills the pencil fast. I will be purchasing these again, most likely 2h or h the next time . That's not a problem for most people though , just a personal nit pick. These are great pencil for anyone looking for professional materials for analog art. Can't really speak for writing though, but I assume they will be good for that as well. Erases well with all erasers. I'm not a good artist yet, so I need to erase a lot. Also need to after inking any drawings.
