First off, this is not a "test kit" per se. It is a dropper bottle of a pH test solution and you will need to provide your own "test tube" in which to conduct the tests... which is not a problem for me... just need to provide your own jigger-sized glass or plastic (clear, no color) to hold the recommended (2 tsp... 10ml) water sample. The tests are very easy to run and the results are instantaneous and unambiguous... as long as you only need to know the general pH of the water sample... gives it to you as pH 4.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, or 10.0... essentially acidic, neutral, or alkaline. Its obviously suitable for high-level testing of, e.g., well water but not suitable for things that require a more detailed value for pH, e.g., fish tanks and swimming pools. I have a well and water-treatment system in my home and, for me, this is perfect for testing to determine when the limestone media in my neutralization tank needs replacement. In that respect, it gives a quick, accurate, and visually-unambiguous result.

I purchased this as part of my test kit to keep an eye on my RO system which I've had for years. It still astonishes me how bad the water is from the local utility company. I tested my RO water and it came out spot on correct. Just for giggles I had already tested the water from the city water faucet and after testing the RO, I added a little bit of water from the city water faucet... geesh, even a splash changed to color immediately. I also purchased test strips from Amazon at the same time. I found those strips easy to use but in my personal opinion, they're not as easy to see the result as this test kit but BOTH work. Lost accuracy very quickly.Will never buy again. I had to repair my ionizer. These kept showing every alkaline setting ,comes out blu,tap water, blue. Tyent sent me regents. showed my true PH values. These are dangerous. Don't buy.
