However, this is more of a toddler size lunch box. Food compartments are much too small for older, school-aged children. It does seem to be built well and tough enough to withstand to daily back and fourth to school, but for a pre-school (maybe kindergarten?) aged child or younger. It also seems very easy to clean, as the stainless steel tray removes from the plastic case very easily.

I'm very happy to have found this. I was searching for a bento that wasn't all plastic, since plastic leaches harmful phthalates into food, that my daughter could take to school.This bento is generous in size which is a plus. I measured before I ordered and made sure it would fit inside her lunch bag.The little bowl on top is excellent for things that are on the messier side, like dips or anything wet. One of her favorite snacks is apples with peanut butter - this set has the little bowl for the peanut butter and comes with utensils so that she can spread the peanut butter on the apple slices herself and the peanut butter doesn't get all over the place like it did in her old lunch box. She loves it. Sandwiches do have to be cut up to fit into the different compartments but I usually cut them in half anyway so no biggy making one more cut into fourths. There is a very VERY thin space under the stainless middle section that I'm able to fit a very thin cold-pack (the soft squishy kind) if I need to. But I don't think it was designed for that.All the parts are removable for easy cleaning, even the lid snaps on and off. Although I would be careful snapping the lid back on just in case, that part's thin plastic.I haven't put anything like soup in the bowl yet so I can say if it will leak with full liquids in it.Five stars for meeting all of my needs.

Its ok for sandwiches or any dry food items. Otherwise, they get mixed up between the three compartments and not so happy with this.

These lunch boxes are so wonderful, they hold so much food and keep everything separated very well! If I pack in the morning they are still separated and warm/cold for my children's lunch time! They are great to take to the park and are so compact they can be thrown in a tote easily!

Cute design but the bowl falls out and top is flimsy, so soup will spill - so, definitely don’t use for soup. Top section is very hard to open. Not suitable for kids in my opinion. My son destroyed the packaging or I’d be returning. He’s only 4 and simply doesn’t have the ability to open and close on his own.
