These volume of 3 books is a perfect buy for anyone interested in the history, stories of tattoos and also of the different cultures.It is a constant pour of knowledge, you learn and become fascinated at every turn of the page.

I am a designer and I found this book great for a little bit of inspiration.

Firstly, ordered on Sunday, reached me by Thursday, much sooner than the anticpated delivery date.Secondly, this book is fantastic! Recommend this to anyone who is a fan of tattoo books, and tattoo culture. I would say this is one o the most original books Ive read its very different to anything else you'll read. Outstanding.

I was really happy with this book. It has great photographs and drawing with the meanings to the images :) Will be getting the others books too.

Great source of small, interesting facts and bits of information about Russian history on various topics from the labour camps to the cult to personality towards Lenin. The tattoos are well-explained and well-captured. The quality of the drawings and the photos is satisfactory, but not great. Overall an enjoyable read. Would recommend to people interested in Soviet history and/or tattoos.

it’s a really good book. lots of interesting pictures and really detailed drawings, some even gave me artistic inspiration. It’s a fascinating insight to art/political history. tattoos are a form of art that can convey a powerful message. there is a lot of misogynistic/pro nazi/anti Semitic/anti Asian/pro Soviet imagery but you gotta remember that these are tattoos of mostly political prisons. I wouldn’t get this book if those kinds of images upset you. love the embossed images on the front and back covers with the sleeve taken off. if you want to get any design from this book tattooed on yourself, make sure you do proper research about what they actually mean and if they still have significance today. also, have the design tweaked a bit so you’re not just ripping off the authors illustrations

Meine Rezension ist leider sehr subjektiv, da ich ein Riesen-Fan dieser Thematik bin. Must-Have für Tattoo-Begeisterte. Da die Informationen auf alle drei Bände verteilt sind, lohnt es sich alle zu haben.

If you're into tattoos, or just like dark humor, this book will impress. It's excellently written and has a really interesting back story. Takes you into a world of criminals who wear their tattoos sort of like a trophy case, a canvas for their criminal career achievements.
