Pixie Menstrual Disc Kit for Feminine Care - Medium & Large, 2 Discs

This kit was curated with so much thought and care. I was able to purchase it with my HSA which is a bonus. I have 0 personal experience with period discs or cups and as a person who has a very regular cycle I’m spending over $125/year on period projects. If this lasts even half of the 10 years it advertises then it’s well worth the investment of $50. Especially since it includes everything you need to sterilize, wash, and store both discs. It was a little awkward but the initial awkwardness is totally worth the comfort and ability to leave it in for 12 hours. It truly does empty itself when you use the toilet and still stays put. (Not gonna lie, I was afraid it might just slide out like tampons can when they’re over saturated!) Using this in tandem with my comfy period panties makes me feel so much more comfortable than tampons or sanitary napkins. It’s given back some confidence and freedom of choice. If you’re on the fence take a chance. I am not a person who endorses products easily and I took the time to go out of my way to leave a review in the hopes that someone like me, a creature of habit who doesn’t change if my current standard “works” even if I’m not exactly thrilled, sees it and gives it a shot. You’ll thank yourself! Especially on the days when you forget you used almost all of your tampons last month and only have pantry liners on a heavy flow day. You and I both know you don’t want to go to the store on that day…. To wrap it up, you’re helping the environment, you’re helping yourself, you’re helping others, this is a triple win! Now I’m gonna go curl up and ignore the world because cramps suck…but at least I don’t have to get up and change my tampon!

This Pixie Menstrual Disc Kit is amazing, to say the least. I was really nervous to try it at first because I had never used anything like it before. However, the kit came with clear instructions for insertion and included everything I needed to make the experience as easy as possible, which made me feel so much more comfortable. There is definitely a learning curve, and along the way I realized that the large disc was simply too big for my anatomy. The medium disc was a much better fit, although I still experienced some mild leaking. I reached out to Pixie’s customer service team to explain what was happening, and they responded almost immediately. They were incredibly helpful, took the time to understand my situation, and helped me figure out the next steps. I truly can’t say enough good things about the Pixie customer service team. They genuinely care about their customers and go above and beyond to make sure everyone finds the right fit for their body. That level of support made such a positive difference in my experience.

As someone who struggles with their menstrual cycle for a variety of reasons, this is the most comfortable I have ever been on my period in my life. I have been singing this product's praises every chance I get and would happily convert everyone I know to a pixie cup disk. I am able to actually forget I am on my period and not have that constant uncomfortable anxiety that something is going to leak. Tampons always leaked for me because of my tilted cervix. Pads make me feel damp and hyper aware. I always have clotty flow and I'm aware of every cold puddle in my underwear and terrified it's going to slip right over the side into my clothes. With the disk, I only think about my period twice a day. In the morning before work and the night before bed. Once you get the hang of installation it's a breeze. As an autistic and transgender person, the sensory experience of being on my period and accompanying dysphoria ruled my life. Especially with an irregular period, I was pre-lining my underwear up to a week before my actual period start because I was so paranoid. Now I'm able to be more in tune with my cycle and I can usually pop in the small disk the day before or day of my period starting. You absolutely get your money's worth with this kit and I'm so glad I opted for this. It comes with everything you could possibly need for a much better price than collecting the pieces individually. Now instead of a giant bin of pads and tampons I have this one little bag under the sink! It also gives me an opportunity to try out this brands products and see what I would want to continue buying or what I would choose to skip. Again, highly recommend getting this kit instead of filling your cart with the individual items. The lubricant is great for the first period with the disk and makes the process much smoother. I love the attached string for mess free removal. The little washes and wipes all work great and I had no irritation from any of it (which I am prone to). All in all this is a cute and comprehensive kit for anyone who has been thinking of switching up their menstrual routine. Five stars!

I thought this kit was really practical because it comes with a little bit of everything you might need. The cleaner, the storage items, and especially the applicator all make the experience feel a lot easier and more comfortable. Personally, I’ve been using menstrual discs for quite a while now, so I don’t really need the applicator anymore. But when I was first starting out, I think I would have found it extremely helpful. If you’re new to menstrual discs and feeling a little nervous about using one correctly, this kit can definitely make the learning process easier. That said, if you’ve been using discs for a long time, know your body well, and are already comfortable inserting and removing them with your fingers, you may not feel like you need all the extras. Still, everything included in the kit is useful and it’s nice to have different options for cleaning, storing, and caring for your disc. Overall, I think it’s a great kit, especially for beginners, but even experienced users will probably find themselves using most of the items that come with it.

Thanks to PCOS/PMOS, I got to use this kit and the Pixie Disc (large size specifically) for 14 days and counting now. There was a learning curve the first few days, but since then it's been a breeze and I have my routine. I used to only use tampons as my period product, but considered switching once I realized the financial burden and how expensive tampons were for me. The reason I made the switch was because I've recently started switching everything in my household to organic non-toxic materials and my tampons weren't it. LEAKS & SELF EMPTY: I was concerned about leaks and self emptying unintentionally. I'm happy to say I've had zero leaks and haven't self emptied when coughing, sneezing, laughing, or even peeing (which I prefer). APPLICATOR: I love the applicator and I'm only comfortable using it for insertion due to having a high cervix. With that said, I do with the applicator was a littler longer, but it's not a dealbreaker or a hassle. I just use a finger and try my best to make sure it's tucked behind the bone properly. STRING: I was conflicted on whether to keep the string or not. I've kept the string because with a high cervix, it is extremely handy when pulling the disc out to empty - at least pulling it down closer to where I can grab the rim. I did not like the sensation of the string hanging down, so I normally tuck it up under the disc and untuck it when I need to use it because I can't feel it that way. KIT: I'm happy that I got the large and medium disc because I usually use super and sometimes regular sized tampons. I was concerned about public or work restroom emptying and cleaning, so I really wanted the collapsible cup/bowl. It's been great for washing the disc in water and sanitizing in the microwave. I love the wipes! They're perfect to slip in my purse and freshen myself up or use instead of the cup/bowl. I haven't needed the lube so that hasn't been tested, but I'm sure it'll be just as great as everything else! The individual sack/baggies for the 2 discs in my kit are flower patterned which I also enjoy. The black mesh bag is also pretty cute and is a perfect size where everything isn't squished in there.

It's got everything you need to get started. Some things seemed unnecessary at first, but I bought it anyway because there's 2 disc sizes for a reasonable price plus a bunch of extras. The lube is a must-have for inserting the larger disc, personally. I've never boiled a menstrual cup in 5 years of use and have never gotten any infection of any sort down there, but the sanitizing cup still came in handy after I dropped the disc in the toilet. Being able to soak it in water and cup wash and aggressively slosh soapy water through the little holes on the disc gave me peace of mind. I haven't used the stain remover and wipes yet, although there is a little stain. The tail lets you remove the disc way more conveniently and quickly than trying to grasp and untuck the disc from behind your pubic bone. I wanted to like the small disc because it's easier to insert without lube, but for a very high cervix it takes too much fiddling to get it right under the cervix and then it moves out of place too easily and causes some pain when it's just bumping against the cervix. Some people online write that people with high cervices might actually be more comfortable with smaller discs, it all depends, but after actually trying one I don't think that's right, at least for a small disc THIS small. If you have a very high cervix you can barely reach, I'd say try the large and medium discs, don't even bother with the small. Overall, good value, very helpful tail, and if you have a high cervix I suggest sticking to large and medium discs.

Perfect for anyone curious about transitioning to reusable and more sustainable period products, especially if you’re a little intimidated. This package was the perfect cute and comforting introduction to finally ditch disposable unhealthy products like pads/tampons. This was clearly put together with love and care and helps ease the transition in a gentle way. Would recommend highly, especially if it’s your first time trying out reusable products. This package made it so much less scary and I will never go back. My health has been so much better since ditching toxic disposable period products. Very easy and convenient and a perfect first introduction.

Le kit est trop mignon et surtout très complet ! Tout le nécessaire est présent pour se lancer sereinement dans l’utilisation du disque menstruel. J’ai également eu la bonne surprise de trouver un applicateur dans le kit, alors qu’il n’était même pas indiqué dans l’annonce ! 😊 Pour le moment, je suis ravie de mon achat. Le rapport qualité/prix me semble très intéressant pour un kit aussi complet. Je ne l'ai pas encore essayé.

Update: I have found that practicing the scooping method when using the disc works really well. So far it seems to be in place and there have been no leaks. Admittedly, I'm only at the beginning of my cycle so time will tell as I get a bit heavier whether it is in place properly or not. For those that might find the pull string a bit uncomfortable, I found tucking it under the bottom of the disc keeps it out of the way and prevents rubbing but is also then easy to access when you need to pull the cup out. ----------- Original review: I bought these because I was desperate to get away from big towels, especially during the heatwave. I find the idea of these easier and a little less 'invasive' than cups especially as there is no suction holding it in place so you can easily pull it out (my hands get stiff from time to time so I lose movability). I found it easy to put in, however, on the day I used them my cervix decided to shift towards my tail bone and I found, even with the applicator, I couldn't quite get it 'tucked' at the back. So I invested in the pixie cup too. This isn't a fault with the product and I have kept them for the days my cervix behaves itself as I felt it was much easier to put the disc in than the cup, especially with checking if it had opened properly. Pros- Excellent bundle. Having 2 different sizes helps you to find your 'fit'. The sanitising bowl is fantastic. I used it both ways, in the microwave and with boiled water fresh from the kettle. Easy to do either. Having the cleansing gel and wipes means you always know your product is clean before reuse. The travel lube is handy too, so if you do need to empty and reuse your disc whilst out it means you don't need to carry a big pump/bottle around with you. The little canvas bags are colour matched to the colour of the disc which makes it easier to see which size you're grabbing without having to open them all. And they all fit nicely in the black bag for monthly storage. Cons- If your cervix shifts you may find it a bit tricky to get into the right position. It is possible but requires a bit of practice, which is why I'll try again on my next cycle, even if I shift, to see if I can get it to work. ******** Frustratingly, I cannot review the applicator separately so I will do it here. I found this applicator is very good for helping to keep the disc folded during insertion as, due to my hands, I was finding it tricky to keep it folded. Being able to change the end of the 'plunger' part to match the size of the disc is also handy. The only issue I have is the cleaning aspect. Yes, it can be cleaned with water and a suitable cleanser but I find it tricky to rinse inside the applicator, especially if it's been a messy insertion. Having a small brush like item to help with this would make it even better. It is larger than a super plus tampon but I found using lube made using this really easy. Definitely worth the investment if you struggle to keep your disc folded whilst inserting.

He de admitir que al principio no sabía si comprarlo ya que yo era team número uno de los tampones pero desde que salió toda la información que eran malos para el cuerpo, decidí buscar una alternativa.
